DNA tests should be done. So many claiming to be Metis whom are NOT.

exactly the true metis communities should be the ones organizing this because right now it is open to anyone claiming to have any amount of whatever? it is a farce. Not sure DNA would solve anything but if you cannot prove descendency from a true indigenous people then one cannot be metis.

Absolutely 💯..they forgot the millions that the Mno contributed to the powley case...actually the National definition stems frome the powley decision...this is what push the western Metis to establish a national definition....some people lack education and understanding for sure...they can say what they want however our history will never be erased in Ontario 😁😁😁😁😁

@@realmetis8002 The Powley case was paid for by Legal Aid. Want to try again? It was the MNO who decided to ignore the MNC ratifications of the Metis identity definition and citizenship requirements. They, who actually participated in those ratifications in 2002, 2004 and the affirmation in 2013. All to line Tony Belcourt's pockets. Then Froh took over and plundered even more for herself. All that money those affiliates are spending like drunken sailors was negotiated by the MMF team when they were still a part of the MNC. Now the affiliates are on their own and can't negotiate a hole in their socks.

Because the idea of being stronger together is lost on people once money is involved.

but that is not what this is about, anyone can say they are metis there is no definition of who is a metis unless you are a friend of someone in the establishment of the Metis organization. This is a total mess and all they want is money money money for the leaders.

    • @LHLK-f9t

@@realmetis8002 no there is no definition of metis, no percentage of blood or proof of descendency, there is only if you are a friend of someone that you will be considered metis, this is totally corrupt.

People have very short memories. Look up what happened to the World Council of Indigenous Peoples after Clem Chartier's removal as its president and see the commonality with the MNC.

Powley's not even Metis. He wasn't even a member of the MNO during his case. He was a member of Tony Belcourt's former group OMMA. These MNO folk not only don't know their own family histories, they're clueless about the MNO history too. Sitting there rah-rahing "Powley, Powley, Powley" without a clue.
