Prince of Persia The Lost Crown has solid combat but the PLATFORMING is god-tier. The controls are as tight as tight can be and just when you think you're getting good, another mechanic gets thrown in. There was never a dull moment difficulty-wise and that made me keep coming back to it. I'm really excited for more people to get the chance to play it!
@@erakfishfishfish funny, I actually played and beat it right after release and didn't have to create a Ubisoft account until after an update. To my knowledge, yeah, it still requires a Ubisoft account but I don't know if that will remain the same for the steam release.
Volgarr - The Viking II - Time sure flies! This looks like a solid follow-up to the old indie mini-classic and got to appreciate the old-school difficulty challenge that results in thrown or crushed controllers... Good to see a follow up so far into the future!
South Pole Bebop seems pretty interesting, although I admit it first jumped at me as the sequel to Into the Breach and I was slightly disappointed that it wasn't it. Still,it looks fun and the multplayer aspect might make it flourish.
Cygni looks great and One Button Boss reminds me of a kind of modern spin on an OLD video arcade game called Tempest (as in 80's old, I used to play it because I am also old lol).
Vladik Brutal looks sick. Deathbound already being released 😱. Never played Steamworld Heist, but it's always been on my sight (mostly because I like the Steamworld Dig games). I had never heard of Lopstructor, but it looks really fun and I like the graphics. Nice video as always.
Oh, Volgarr difficulty is always fair. I have never, a single time died in the original and said 'that was bullshit' - EVERY time I knew exactly what I did wrong. The reason it's so hard is that you have to beat the level in one go, there is no checkpoint at the boss, so you have to do boss runback every time. And because weapon upgrades are your health, you can make at best one mistake or the boss will become so much harder.
Creatures of Ava had a lovely demo, the healing take on combat felt really unique and I’m definitely looking forward to its release 💜 Also, to answer the Fields of Mistria question - the Sailor Moon aesthetic of the characters and the magical abilities that are incorporated into more typical farming sim elements are aspects that I’ve specifically seen people intrigued by that set it apart from others in the genre. And at $14 it’s an easy pick up!
Clemmy, One Button Bosses' gameplay system is similar to The Good Knight, another SE Asian made game. I don't know if you've featured them on your channel before
D&D Gamblers is really fun. I played the demo before trying Balatro. It's went through a huge graphical overhaul and turning into a 1v1 game instead of you vs the game like blackjack.

I LOVED Cat Quest 1 and 2, but I think I'll be skipping CQ3. I downloaded the free demo, and the text font is so small. I can't play several hours like this. Why do modern games have to make the text so small??
I tried One BTN Bosses. Great in concept, but it wasn’t long before the bosses felt cheap and unfair. Too many unavoidable attacks unless you memorize each boss. When I play a game with this level of difficulty, I like to compare it to Cuphead. In Cuphead, I never felt like I had a cheap death. Every time I died, I knew exactly why and how I could have avoided it. The key here is I could have avoided it on the first try. That’s not the case with One BTN Bosses. There are so many attacks that you can only avoid if you know they’re coming, and the only way you know they’re coming is through repetitive memorization. That’s not fun for me. You may as well just give me a game where I have to memorize pi to a thousand places.
I do like platformers with strong Metroidvania game design elements, and I did love old school Prince of Persia. Unfortuneately I won't be supporting Ubisoft anymore. Even if they repent and revert to developing great games in the long run, in the meantime any support they receive will go towards their current agenda driven anti-gamer attitude in the short run.
