I could be wrong but it also doesn't looks like a black bear. It's head seems to thick, the snout to short and the eyes to small. I know they come in all colors but this bear doesn't look like the typical slimmer black bears we have in New England.
It makes me so happy that ppl let him swim and walk to the water without getting angry at him ! Thank you so much, that's heartwarming and gives hope for a peaceful and respectful co-exsistance ! Feel huged guys !
He didn't bother anyone, he has every right to want to swim. We need to keep a respectful distance but we shouldn't interfere. Usually after they do what they wanted, they just ramble away. There are people who have bears that visit their pools, and hurt no one.🐾🌈☮️🇨🇦🕊

On the local news two hours from Tahoe, they were showing this same beach where the mama bear walked up with her cubs, set up an area for themselves on the sand, right where it meets the water and with a littlle elbow room from all the people. She sat upright and watched her cubs play, just like humans.. wow, for real! SO intelligent.
The fact that they are that habituated to being around people is sad, and dangerous. It's not so cute when they have to relocate it or put it down, which they will do if it keeps that up.
It’s a lake (Lake Tahoe,) but point still stands. It’s their land and we are smart to learn to share it with them instead of trying to keep them from using it.

They should these bears are being pushed out of thier homes because of construction and buildings that they have nowhere else to go and happy to see people didn't freak out and let him to what he needed to do.
@@OffCJDcan you read? The location sign on the pier said, "South Lake Tahoe." I live in California and I've seen brown black bears up in the Sierra mountains which Tahoe is partly in and also abuts. Not all black bears are black some of them are brown. I've seen them up close and personal. Closer than I would have liked. We have plenty of black bears that are actually brown in color. And as a matter of fact they can be black, brown, cinnamon, blond, blue-gray, or white. And brown bears have a pronounced hump at the end of their neck. Which you can observe this bear completely lacks. LOL back at you! 😅

California black bears are pretty darn mellow. Because it's Lake Tahoe, this bear's already living near people and it's probably visited this beach before with people around.
Humans are a huge threat to it, it likely got relocated after this video, if they continue to have issues with it they will euthanize it. A bear like this gets about a 2 strike policy before.... Also lake Tahoe is at over 6000 feet in elevation and is surrounded by mountains, it's not that hot there.
I'm so glad that they did not frighten the bear away because the bear must have been really in need of cooling off and if they frighten him/her away he/she wouldn't have gotten near the water and been able to go in and cool off. so I'm glad that they were respectful enough to not try to chase him/her away

Over 3/4 of this particular bear’s diet consists of consuming plant matter with the rest being small animals like birds. Not really a ferocious predator. The only time they’re a problem is when their habitat is disturbed, starvation or they or their cubs are being threatened.
It's a bear. Ours in Australia are cuddly. We don't have to pretend to be dead to have a small chance to survive one of those creatures. Sadly, the koala bear is one of the rare harmless things we have in our bush.
I camped out with a 400lb bear at shasta lake for twelve days. He ate all of the snack food the within the first two hours after making camp and leaving to go for a quick fish. He came back each night and morning for dinner and breakfast. He even left me some tooth punctures on my tackle box. Best camping/ fish trip ever.
This is why we are seeing this, bears getting closer to humans because people feed them. Don't get me wrong, I probably would want to feed also, but eventually, it will do more harm than good
