The fact that this is not a vanilla feature, rather a modded one (from Optifine) makes this feel like an unfair advantage, because at that point (when you're abusing mod features anyways) you might as well get a mod that shows invisible players' skins or nametags, it would have pretty much the same effect: either way you're using mods to gain an unfair advantage.
