I was 8 years old at the time when both Pac and Big died. 2pac and Biggie's death messed me up as a little kid. Much love and prayers to Ms. Wallace and Gene Deal. I hope I get to see the day that Diddy gets brought to justice for Ms. Wallace. Biggie didn't deserve that.
This is a big part of why I've always respected Gene. Bcz I know this pain....All too well. 18 days from now will be the 10th anniversary of the worst day of my life. And the beautiful way the day was is a big reason as to why it hurts remembering that day. I woke up and all 7 of my brothers were alive, we had a day set every week that we'd hang out together. We had just eaten lunch at Pizza Hut and we were now shooting hoops when shots started ringing out. Just before I loss consciousness my 2nd oldest brother had just died in my arms. The influx of emotions that came over me, smh. I couldn't even feel pain from my own wounds. Then when a lady we call Mama Cyn who helped raise us, start screaming, crying/bawling, praying/begging holding my lil brother limp in her arms was the last thing I remember seeing before waking up in the hospital. When I woke up 4 days later, 3 more of my brothers were gone, with my youngest brother dying exactly 3 hrs, TO THE MINUTE, of when I woke up. It crushed me. Mentally, emotionally, spiritually everything that can hurt..hurt. I almost lost my mind. Family, friends, nurses, doctors, the hospital chaplain, ppl that went to my mother's church told me it would get easier deal with in time. And for almost 10 years, I've had at the very least 1 or 2 times during the week when I have to duck off somewhere where I can be alone and weep. Especially when I have my nephews and nieces. They look just like their fathers, laugh like them, act like them, react like they'd react , think like them, and everything. From July 17th 10 years ago when I was 19 to now at 29, there hasn't been a day that has come and gone without me thinking of them. And it's a pain so tortuous and inescapable, I'd rather be shot or burned and deal with physical pain, rather than the emotional and mental pain
