    I agree about the ads, especially a pain if you are looking at a website via your smartphone. The Christmas scrap socks are fab! ❤️

    I agree with the ads, I find it overwhelming and struggle to focus on the pattern, especially if the ads move.

    Loving your socks, I love that they don’t match perfectly! I also agree about the adverts that pop up. When you go in several websites and they all have pop up ads, you spend more time closing ads than reading the pattern!
    Looking forward to your crafting video :)

      Thanks so much Kimberly I’m so pleased you enjoyed the video and you like my mis matched socks 😝
      The ads are just a lot aren’t they! Glad it’s not just me 🙈💖

    No Lindsey, I totally totally totally agree with you on the ads of website. I know se of the traveling afghan websites are flooded with ads and though there's nice patterns I will not be going back. It causes me anxiety to the point where I will miss things. Rather put affiliated links or something at the bottom but my goodness, it's bad. Thank you for bringing that up, not only as a designer but as a consumer as well.

    • @samanthaavenant6725

      I buy patterns as far and frequent as I can to support crochet artists, I really try my best to comment, like, share and tag on projects and platforms. I feel, big projects like this, try to make the blogs half way pleasant atleast and people will return.

    • @lottieandalbert
      @lottieandalbert  3 года назад

      It totally gives me anxiety too!! I don’t begrudge people making money but some of them it’s like that haven’t even looked at their own site 🙈🙈🙈 thanks for watching and commenting Samantha I really appreciate it 💖

    Lovely episode. Really enjoyed it.
    I totally agree with you about the pop-up adverts on blogs. I totally get that designers have every right to make money from what they do But some are really excessive especially when using a smart phone. Makes it almost impossible to see the post in the end so I normally give up never to return. That can’t be good for business surely.

    • @lottieandalbert
      @lottieandalbert  3 года назад

      Thank you so much I’m so glad you enjoyed it! You are right excessive is the perfect word. I presume they do make money from it as so many people are doing it, but I just can’t bring myself to have so many pop ups etc 🙈💖 thanks for watching

    I agree about the ads. I wouldn't mind if they kept to the sides as they used to, but you do get a headache when you're trying to read and they keep popping up in your way and some of them are hard to get rid of. It seems as soon as you have cleared the field to read again, another pops up. I usually get so mad that I do leave the site.

    I agree with your take on craft blogs and ads. It’s over the top on some sites. As long as it’s working for them, though, they’ll keep using the pop up ads.

    Hello Lindsey, great podcast as always. Love all your makes and WIP’s. I am completely with you regarding excessive adverts on websites, I really cannot cope with them and will leave the website regardless of what they are offering, eg free pattern etc. Have a great Christmas and New Year, fingers crossed, 2021 has to be a better year....🤞

    Pretty scrappy socks! I'm currently working on some knitted Christmas socks. I'll be 'burning the midnight oil' to finish Christmas gifts this year I'm sure. lol I agree about the aids, I understand the need but if it's over the top I don't go back to those sites either.

    Yeah I hate the ads, I would rather watch an ad then gain access to a patten of that makes sense. I loose where I am if there are loads of ads or I click them by mistake. Xx

    • @lottieandalbert
      @lottieandalbert  3 года назад

      I always click on them by mistake 🙈😂 then you have to spend time trying to get back to where you actually wanted to be etc it’s just bluergh 😆 💖

    You've inspired me to have a bash at crochet socks now. I think I may treat myself to some indie dyed yarn and make it a nice little project to do over Christmas x

    Thanks for another gorgey video lovely! 😊 💖 Haha yes I too feel irritated by lots of adverts popping up all over the place! Like you said, It's not really the advert that annoys me but more the 'popping up' style in which they bob around the screen...it hurts my eyes 😂 and no I've not finished my Christmas shopping yet... But I am feeling super festive - baking mince pies helps! 😁💕

    • @lottieandalbert
      @lottieandalbert  3 года назад

      Thank you lovely!!! So glad you enjoyed it 🥰 I think you’re right it’s the popping action and having to click them away 🙈 I don’t mind people making money with ads at all! Thanks for reassuring me on the crimbo situation 😂 baking mince pies sounds yuuuuumy 💖💖

    I too understand it's a business; however, blog sites with too many ads/pop-ups are distracting and extremely annoying. Even more aggravating is to receive a designer's paid pattern that reads like Egyptian hieroglyphics. I find reading written patterns difficult and will usually check out a blogger's free written pattern to see how it's written and if it is easy and clear to navigate. If the free pattern is easy to follow then I'm willing to take a chance on the purchase of their paid patterns. When bombarded with overstimulated popups and/or information not pertaining to what I need or am searching for then I will exit the said site and look for another blog site with a similar pattern and blog information that is easier to read through without so many distractions. With this said, I do not believe you are being a "sensitive flower', if however, you are then I am too.

    • @lottieandalbert
      @lottieandalbert  3 года назад +2

      Oh my gosh yes that’s such a great idea! I’ve never thought to do that and I’ve definitely bought some ‘patterns’ before that are more like notes someone has jotted down 🙈
      Also Egyptian hieroglyphs made me laugh 😂👏🏻
      The ads are just a lot, so many people have commented here agreeing I can’t understand why they designers do it, It must be making them some good money! 💖🙈
