To Answer your question, no, his character doesn't have over the top power. It's just the style of fighting in this film. Because he's the protagonist, giving him a tiny bit extra over the top style in fighting scenes would make us feel a bit more excited for the protagonist and fights.
If he doesn't have powers then there is no reason to why he is able to do that, it makes a fight unrealistic

The reality is that most people cannot get up after getting a strong punch.
Movies show people having more power than what is in reality. But we cannot consider that over the top, it's just a way to entertain.
But showing people falling meters away after getting punches can be considered over the top. Malayalam movies doesn't usually have such fight scenes. This movie too has less scenes like that.

Yeah I still remember your first Indian movie reaction Lucifer. I have watched the reaction then and subscribed, liked instantly back then. As an earlier subscriber I urge you to watch this movie. It's a mass masala political entertainer movie with a great narrative structure, a good and linear storytelling mode, but have layered characters and amazing dialogues with nice cinematography. Overall an awesome cinematic experience and do watch the original version in malayalam with subs.
Fun fact - It is directed by a superstar actor (Prithviraj - Debutant director) and written by another superb actor (Murali Gopi). It was a mega blockbuster hit in India and collected over 250 Crores worldwide.
Do watch it, you won't be disappointed...
