This is at least the second runway from Valentino where the models had trouble with a specific shoe, that same pointy-toe stiletto. They didn't show it here but one of the models ended up falling (but had an iconic recovery). Let's hope whichever shoes they are get cycled out soon, for everyone's safety. Otherwise, a great runway to watch! The setting and runway setup was sublime. There were some really eye-catching pieces here and the runway was long enough so we got to see more of all of them.
It's really interesting to me that we seemed to be getting away from spindly unbalanced stilletos and into a more balanced and secure platform shoe, and yet the brand's that seem to most strongly pioneer that keep veering away into unbalanced territories again. (Not that there aren't unbalanced platforms, but in my experiences as a wearer, I find them to be the most secure shoe type, especially now that they're getting normal treaded soles these days instead of smooth)
There were some hits here and there but most of it looked shockingly cheap. Like last minute garland pinned around cuffs. And yes about the random bow thrown on.

Why is it still a trend to work so hard to design a beautiful collection, spend so much money on the location, then finally present the clothes in the most joyless, expressionless way imaginable? I've seen more joy at funerals. Why not stop to really MODEL the clothes, show off their construction, lend them movement and personality? (Someone will undoubtedly say that the expressionless models keep the attention on the clothes; but it's people who give meaning to clothes. Without the human expression, the clothes are pointless.)

Otherwise, a great runway to watch! The setting and runway setup was sublime. There were some really eye-catching pieces here and the runway was long enough so we got to see more of all of them.
