Good morning David and Joann, it was a nice change of pace to see a video from you not related to all the yummy foods on past cruises. Iceland looked cold in the video. Thanks as always. Hi from Bob and Jill in still no snow Connecticut.
Hi Bob & Jill! Yeah feels nice to have a non-food video out here and there lol. Iceland was quite cold even during the summer- so was Norway. You guys probably prefer cruising to get away from the cold. Thanks for the comment! 🙂
Thank you for this awesome video! I’ll be sailing NCL star next week for Iceland and Greenland but they assigned me an enclosed balcony! I would prefer an open balcony like yours. I enjoyed the tour of your cabin and the balcony views.
Our pleasure- thank you very much for the comment! 😊 We actually had booked an inside cabin, but then upgraded to this balcony via NCL's "upgrade advantage". We bid $150 per person for the 11 day cruise and it was accepted. So be on the lookout for an email they might send you to bid to upgrade to maybe a different category balcony or a suite. Have a wonderful Greenland & Iceland cruise- the views are going to be amazing!
New subscribers here. We haven't been on NCL in quite a few year. We had no idea they were charging for room service. We will sometimes get in a routine of ordering a really early breakfast and then getting to the gym when it opens. I couldn't justify that if we had to pay $10/delivery. We're ready for ships to get USB C outlets for all of the updated electronics we have now.
Thank you for subbing! Yeah we don't think that room service fee is worth it either. And agree 100% on the outlets. Recently we were on the Allure of the Seas and they still have the 30-pin old iPhone connectors which was discontinued almost 10 years ago.
@@TravelTouristVideos it is crazy how the cruise lines will go into dry dock for a carpet update, but seem to be way behind in the world of technology.
Would you consider doing a packing video? I noticed you mentioned you traveled with a water pitcher and I’m wondering what other tips and must haves you take on your trips. As always I love your videos and thank you for sharing! 😊
That is for sure- we've actually had other fellow cruisers come up to us and request that as well! We'll see if we can make one in the coming weeks- thanks! 🙂
Thank you for sharing! We're booked in a balcony room on the Star in July 2023 heading to Iceland, Greenland, and Norway. It was great to see what we can expect. How were the seas on your trip? Were they rough? We haven't cruised this area so don't know what to expect.
Our pleasure! That sounds like a very similar itinerary except with Greenland which is very interesting. The seas did get rough here and there, especially after sailing from Norway, but nothing too bad. A lot of it probably depends on the weather so hopefully it'll be smoother sailing for you cruise. Would love to hear how it went after you get back!
Just got off the Star, Reykjavik Iceland to New York City. The ship is lovely, actually. Well maintained, very nice recent refurb. We were in an inside cabin, which was quite comfortable for a quick trip. But the cruising? Loud. Horribly loud. Like 79-81dB according to my phone, wherever you go. Food was at best poor, service was worse. In the cafe, we are talking inedible - how can you ruin Asian noodle soup? DAILY! that said, if you want to cruise with young kids or teens, it's worth looking into. If you are at the stage of your life where you never know if this is going to be your last cruise or not, avoid Norwegian like the plague!
Sorry to hear that! Yeah the included food we had on the Star was underwhelming overall. We were fine with it as the ports were amazing. But yes NCL has been cutting back on food quality aggressively the last few years.I believe nowadays only their newer ships will have good food overall.
Hello, we are thinking about booking this ship to Iceland and Greenland but are concerned that there are not enough plugs in the cabin. My husband and I both have CPAP machines that need to be plugged in at night and there may not be enough plugs to accommodate that??
What is fruit danish? -.- Edit: just thinking again.. its those danishes... but with fruit 🗿 like.. jam or something -.- I didn't read the fat title...
I like the room.. but i dont like the small bathroom.. its smaller than ours 😳 Also the toilet and the door... 😩 i would feel .... trapped in a little room... 🤭 how did you feel? And the shower.. i better like a door than a curtain.. cuz i feel disgusted when it touch me 😂😂 We have a slide door in our bathtub 🥲
I think they had more lifejackets at the top area of the closet but I didn't show it. But at least they had them in the cabin- some cruises you have to pick them up at your assembly station nowadays!
5:45 😍😍😍😍 what are they doing? Tender port? -.- 5:58 no way 6:10 yeet.. i want to live there.. lol... Mby some LifeBoats everyday 👉👈 And touching? 😭😭😭😭😭😭😡😡😡😡😡 Hiw dare they to sail so fast...
In Invergordon the ship actually docked, so not sure why the lifeboat was like that there. Probably testing to make sure it's ready for the next tender ports. And the place you like there is Lerwick Shetland Islands in north UK. That was a tender port- I don't think I posted a video of that ride or our time there where we had a nice long hike. Hopefully I'll get to it in the next few weeks! 🙂
@@TravelTouristVideos I only seen that one in isa… idk… But there are more videos.. so I’m a little confused… if it at 2 tender ports.. The first one is at the.. bruh place.. The other ones where you see the black ship and standing in the lifeboat.. is that same place? You said you took a ride back to eat lunch and blabla so that must mean.. 4 TIMES ON A DAY😡😡😡😡😭😭😭 I also want that 😭
Nope that was in Iceland. This Norwegian Star cruise had 4 tender ports: New Haven Scotland, Lerwick Shetland Islands Scotland, Seydisfjordur Iceland and Isafjordur Iceland. I think I only posted the two Iceland ones so far.
@@TravelTouristVideos I only remember you rode it on the isafjordur..there where you rode it 4 times that day.. The other one seydisfjord… where you standing inside it

Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into your videos because of you I just walked down a December Cruise in 2023
Our pleasure! Happy to hear that our videos helped! 😊

Thank you for this video, i have a balcony cabin booked next month. Nice touch using the Icelandic letters in the place names 🙂
You're very welcome- have a wonderful cruise! 🙂
Beautiful 😊
Some really great views from the balcony!
Nice video but I am here for the food. Lol. I will never go on a cruise...but experiencing thru your eyes is great. Thanks.
A lot of food videos coming up so stay tuned 😁
Its nice that you are doing videos with other content.
Thanks! I think so too! 🙂
And I really liked seeing the views from your balcony. So relaxing and beautiful
For sure- this was one of those cruises where getting a balcony is worth the extra cost!

Thank you very much for your video!!!! One quick question, if you don't mind, was the swimming pool heated?
Thanks a million!

Once you have a converter you can plug a power strip so that it should be good as long as you have long enough cables to your machines.
Would you say that a balcony was necessary for this kind of itinerary?
Which adapter? The world wide?
Yes I definitely recommend the worldwide that way you're covered
Hola voy a ir en febrero de este 2024 como es el clima en esa fechas por Antártida Ushuaia, cordillera sur argentino graciasss🇺🇾🇺🇾

Yeah bathrooms are quite small on cruise ships- that's actually a pretty decent size one. And yes we feel the same way about those curtains!
@@TravelTouristVideos curtains be like.. YUCK..
Also a slide door is better 🥲 it prevent the water to float out ….
@@TravelTouristVideos but didn’t you forget to test the shower and sink? 👀
