- One of my first surfskates was by Carver Skateboards, so I wanted to share my thoughts on the differences between their trucks: C7, CX & C5.

Wheelbase Formula
1. Measure your inseam in inches or cm.
2. Divide the inseam length by 2.
3. Add an inch (2.5 cm) to the number found in step 2.
To find the lower limit of your wheelbase range: subtract a half-inch (~1.5 cm) from the number found in step 3. To find the upper limit of your wheelbase range: add a half-inch (~1.5 cm) from the number found in step 3.

After intense and deeply scientific research in the field of surfskating, when it comes to choosing a particular system/brand, I have come to the following conclusion: BUY 'EM ALL!!!
Yes! I so agree with this!!
Same here😂 I really thought I'll stick to one board in the beginning lol. I have my first board for 2 weeks now and I'm looking for the next one.
@@thehermitessandthedog2966 yeah, that's a classic: how many times have my family heard the dreaded sentence "OK, that's it, that's the last one"
Haha! 100%! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
I might be on my 10th different board since I’ve started 😂😂😂
I love your reviews. So clean, informative and some of the shots are plain gorgeous.
I love those older roundhouse wheels! They grip well but release easily in slides. I’ve done 3m length banked bertslides on them and they are not crumbling after a lot of use. Stay away from the ecothane ones though. Good comparison of the three trucks. One extra is that you can grind easily on C7 and C5, but the kingpin on the CX is too long and sticks out causing hangups.
I love your content whenever I need information on a Skateboard this is where I come first.
Thanks Bryant. Really appreciate that! Lmk if you need any help w/ anything
Thanks I will let you know.
An excellent and clear comparison. I own a Slide and Carver C7 and I love them both.
Thank you for your review. I always wanted to see what the C5 looked like...
As I commented in your Yow video, I own a Carver Triton with CX trucks. Love the fact that it is quite high from the road, and very smooth to ride. Also the nice thing is that you can adapt it fast by loosing the front truck depending if you're riding the streets of pumping on a pumptrack.
Nice feeling of a multi use board!
Keep on riding!🤙
I really love your channel, edition, quality of video, sound, everything is soooo good, wish u bigger audience!
My first longboard was a Carver Laird complete with the C7 trucks. Fun ride.
what a truly informative channel! been referencing it a lot lately.
Such a well-done, intricate, yet concise review!
So informative and to the point, answered all my questions. Thanks a lot!!! So helpful!
Stoked to help!
Great reviews, man! Please release more of those shirts. I want one bad!
Great content and awesome advice. Keep it up!!
Having these carver trucks on a YOW Arica deck is savage lol Loving it!
This video made my decision easy on which truckbase is best for me! Thank you
Stoked to hear that. Thanks man. Enjoy!
Great shirt and awesome review!
Keep up the good work man ! 👍🏽
Sick review! Always been in love with Carver and just recently snatched up a pair of 2.4s after waiting so long to get one. Nothing comes close to the minimalistic CX design and simple maintenance required compared to the other systems. Have been contemplating whether to get a C7 setup but after watching this review am gonna opt in for another 2.4 setup. Unfortunately no C5 trucks where I am.
Totally agree with you. I ride my CX a bunch… such a simple/genius design
Awesome content dude!
Have you had a chance to try the street surfing shark attack? I got one a couple years ago and haven’t seen or heard of anyone else with one 🤙🏽
Thanks, for sharing tbis video...
Is that another arbor board on the top left row? Exited for that review! Looks like maybe an Oso which is pretty sick!
Love my Carver Haedron
Love your videos, I will never miss one keep up the great work!!!
Means a lot Jacob, thanks man! Have an awesome weekend
Well done, as usual
The merch looks fire I might have to pick up a shirt
Best skating youtuber
these reviews are bomb. Have you heard about the brand NKX? They made some surf-skates (NKX buzz Surfskate 29') which are like a clone of carvers CX. Can you review it and compare them? Thanks!
I was a bit confused by something about being “overhyped” in the original title. I see it’s changed now, cool! This was a great review of all 3 truck systems tho! I’m a big fan of the C5’s but am finding most my riding in parks and bowls lol.
What are you confused about?
@@cnswanson7207 when the video was first posted it had something like “are they overhyped” as if referring to the Carver trucks.
You should check out the bear walker boards. Idk if they’re actually good or just made for the design
Amazing video
wow i'm just looking for some carver trucks and you make a video about it nice keep on going i have watched almost all of your surf skate video's lately. btw how is pumping on all three trucks
No way, really? That's awesome. Thanks for watching all the vids!
Can you please review a ZFlex drop through board I heard they’re good but idk if I can go off website reviews
Hey man
I really love your vids man!
Have a nice weekend🤙🤙
Thanks A Ton for sharing🙏🙏
Happy to help. Let me know if you have any questions
@@concrete-waves First of all i appreciate the crisp information you provide in your videos Thanks so much, i just wanted to share some informarion ,I am 44 years old , i am from India,I had a cruiser board when i was 19 ,during that time there were no bearings which we have now ,i had to remove individual ball bearings both sides of the Wheels clean apply grease and put the ball bearings back, but now its si convenient & easy.
There were i believe 12 or 14 ball bearings each side of the wheels those days, now currently i actually used skateboard deck 8inch width ,fixed new cruiser wheels hand painted the deck and using ,Apologies for the long message .Also as per me Age doesnt matter what matters is passion🙏🙏
Wow this video really boosted your subs
Keep it up
Any thoughts on the slide surfskates?
Can you review the charger x Pro please 🙏
yea i need that shirt
This guy needs more subs
Deserves *
appreciate that, thank you!
90% sold out. Do they have any sort of timeline on stocking back up😩
Hello, how are you? question? is carver c7 can be use on a bowl ride? and how good is it? Thank you so much!
Last time you said you would start with a waterborne? How does c7 compare to the waterborne?
Love the shirt
Thanks! Stoked on it
yooo the shirts look sick!
Ayyy appreciate it Connor! If you're based in the US, dm me on IG. I wanna send you a shirt for free for supporting for so long
beep bop boop beep beep boop
wow, thanks! I appreciate it! Yeah I’ll def check it out!
If I’m not necessarily trying to “surf skate” should I not go for these C5s? I’m looking more for something better for cruising
I was wondering where can I buy the grip tape for the carver skateboard
I see that you used the YOW Arica in your YOW review and that you used the deck in this review. Would you say that the Arica is good for someone who wants to do tricks in flat ground, but also wants to ride a bowl on the weekends?
imo arica is hands down one of Yow’s best boards, even for both applications. However..Yow trucks are very specific to yow decks only. The mounting bolts on yow meraki are weird. It’s not the traditional kind that you see in carver and slide trucks. It’s as thought they only want you to use yow decks with yow trucks
Ok after YOW Carver cx and Waterborne what should I buy next?
Love that that intro🔥🔥🔥
Where can I get a smoothstar in North America?
Hey man which carver do you recommend for surf training? Im 5’6 1/2, and what i see available online is only the yago skinny goat 30.75 16.75wb, ci fishbeard 29.5 15.5wb, rocket redux 30 16wb, firefly 30.25 16.25 wb. Someone recommended the rocket redux but i think its too wide at 10.5, not sure about the concave being too flat on the fishbeard, and is maybe the yago skinny goat wb too wide at 16.75 me being 5’6-5’7? Decisions.. hahahaja, would really appreciate the help!
Find a retailer and go ride the demos
Do a original skateboards review ! And their trucks !
🙏🏽
What would you suggest for cruising?????
Getting this as a gift for my husband and stuck on which length to get him. He's 5'9 and I was between a 31' or 29' - any recs?
I’d go for the 31”
Holy shit.... My mate was asking we a few days ago about Carver skateboards. Guess I'll send him this video 😂
haha no way! Appreciate it man
@@concrete-waves win win situation for the both of us ig 🤷♂️
I want a surf skate that at the same time could also work as a cruiser if I make the trucks tighter, are there any brands that you can recommend ?
Hi Ana on the YOW surf skates you can lock off the front truck and use as a cruiser
You should try freeskates
What is the most realistic to surfing
Kind of depends on preference. But if you want the hardest learning curve, SwellTech is regarded as the most realistic. I enjoy YOW & Smoothstar the best though... they feel much better to pump compared to SwellTech/Carver
What is your favorite surfskate right now
I ride my YOW the most. Then probably Carver CX
cx is there best i own a c7 and a cx once i got the cx never ridden the c7 again
I wish I could get that shirt 👀
Damnit now I wanna spend money on stuff
Great vid ❤️👍
Thanks for showing up and supporting. I appreciate it!
just don't buy the globe onshore cruisers with the revenge alpha 2 trucks. i find them hard to pump and after switching to the slide v3 trucks it's like night and day difference.
I have yet to try the revenge trucks, but I can imagine they're a lot stiffer compared to the slide trucks since there's no spring (right?). I think the slide trucks are actually pretty solid
My surf shop wouldn’t even let me ride the boards lol
You could get the same deal just putting your front truck on backwards, lol.
Anyone put carver trucks on a double kick?
I'll try all carver trucks on double kick and report back to you
@@concrete-waves 2easy man cheers
I didn't like it at all. Wheel base too short
First?
Definitely overhyped.
That music sucks heavily .
