Perhaps because it is such an exciting piece, performers think it is enough to just be carried through by the rhythm, without a lot of attention to the phrasing and inflection of the individual notes. But you have made a really nice arrangement, and you give voice to each note with beautifully modulated tone. I think that is what I love the most about your playing, the musicality of each and every note.
@@JulienAndo Listening to it makes me wonder what aspects you needed to work on as your practiced, and what aspects of your playing are fully automatic. I almost want to hear your first versions of it so I could compare that to this refined version. What I find most appealing are subtleties of technique -- I don't know if they just come naturally to you, after so many years of fluency in the violin, and are a spontaneous part of your musical language so that you don't even think about them anymore, or if they are things that you consciously polish while you are practicing the piece for performance. For example, even though you turn on/off your vibrato from one note to another, it is in a way sustained silently in between in that the modulation frequency remains the same, and there is no phase discontinuity in the vibrato modulation from note to note. That is, it is as though you have an oscillator in your arm that continues unabated, and you just turn up and down the modulation amplitude as needed, without its frequency wandering when it isn't being used. Or, to take another example, you have fine control of the attack, swell, and decay of notes, even separate notes slurred on the same bow. It seems, just listening, that your control of the dynamics is as natural and fluid as is speech. I would love it if my ear were trained well enough to offer you true criticism rather than jsut this shallow praise, but alas, I'm not a musician!
