Thank you for the video I was born and raised in Stamford. I often rode round trip from Stamford to GCT. When I became a mother and my children were older I would take them on the train and spend the day in NYC I have a special love of trains.. When I was little my grandmother would take me from Springdale to Stamford and back again
I worked in Stamford at General Reinsurance in Corporate Underwriting and was allowed to make the announcements before they became automated Stamford, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Cos Cob, Greenwich, Port Chester, Rye (my hometown,) Harrison, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, New Rochelle, Pelham, Mount Vernon East, Fordam (to detrain only) 125th and Grand Central Terminal.
@@LonestarTrips Any of them would be interesting. The IRT subway lines are very different than the BMT and IND lines. We still have a lot of Els in Brooklyn, The Bronx and Queens.
Ah, that makes a lot of sense! I was checking the timetables when editing and just picked one of the 2 numbers that were associated with it without realizing one was the connecting service.
Yeah, it is a little confusing. I think the number on top is the connecting train from New Canaan, and the bottom one is the Grand Central bound train. It's the same deal on the Harlem Line between Wassaic and Southeast.
Hello. How are you? I discovered your channel a couple weeks ago. I live on Long Island, and I used to ride the Long Island Railroad all the time. I still do sometimes, and I get excited when I get to ride an M9. Don't worry, I am definitely not a "foamer". However, I have never been on Metro-North, but I definitely want to ride it one day, especially the New Haven Line. Those M8s are awesome. Anyways, I enjoy your videos, and have a nice day.
Hey, thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you enjoy the videos! I highly recommend checking out Metro North, even if it’s just for fun. It’s a great service, and on the northeast corridor, it’s amazing.
You should try the current Acela First Class before the Avelia Liberty replaces the older train sets. Specifically, you should go from NYC to DC, and arrive to your train at NYC early to explore the Metropolitan Lounge. However I'd say this is only worth it if you pay maximum around $250 for it one way, which is currently like the cheapest price for it. It's not worth it any more than maybe $275 one way.
I definitely will! I’ve wanted to ride on Acela for a long time now, and I plan on taking it and the Northeast Regional next time I’m in the northeast!
What I meant was that they run express from GCT to Stamford, and then begin their local service starting at Stamford. Granted, the way I phrased it does not make that clear at all.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the ride. I love my city and all the transit options we have.

I loved the "Stats for Nerds" Answered many questions I always had about the power and motors on the train! So cool.. 😃
Wow nice trip report channel! Just found it some minutes ago great view from cab
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed!
Over catenary starts just east of mt vernon east station 3rd rails ends in between mt vernon east and pelham
Interesting how the control panel just happened to swing open when you were sitting there! 😎
Would have also liked a subway line review!
Which line(s)? There’s a lot of them in NYC!

I like your videos. From New Haven, Connecticut
SLE hasn’t been allowed east of New Haven since ~2020, though that might change since they are using M8s now
Nice video buddy
Great video! Just a tip, your train was actually #6561, #6761 is the connecting New Canaan branch train that connects to yours at Stamford.

The train you rode was 6561, not 6761. 6700 trains are weekend only New Canaan Branch trains.

'4 inches of knee space' for you. I'm 6'3" and it was uncomfortable.
I too, am 6'3". Where I was sitting specifically had 4 inches of leg room, but the regular seats are awful, with next to no legroom whatsoever.
You forgot CTRail to Springfield MA.
Ctrail doesn’t serve Stamford it only goes from New Haven to Springfield and back lone star was correct about the train services that stop there
Is that Stanford or New Rochelle
It's Stamford.
help him get to 100k subs!
You're the best! 100K will come eventually!
“While outer zone train run from Stamford to new haven”
Actually outer trains start from Grand central and counties down to new haven

@@LonestarTripsoh, I see. Yeah I didn’t understand at all. Thanks for the clarification.
I would.d rather be in surfliner cabcar car
Can I stick my head out the window
