She’s married almost a year now but she struggled through & has done a great job. Now her confidence is raised & her kids know what a strong Mom they have. She never went after child support either.
I second that! I had to humble myself but I am able to allow someone to help me now and I feel grateful and happy and I do feel like a stronger person than I was before. It’s a strange thing to say, but it’s the truth. 💪🙌🥰

Jeffie, save all your wheelchairs, and parts. Later on you will be wearing out several wheelchairs and the parts will come in handy. My best friend is paraplegic and we had to do repairs on his chairs fairly often as they wore out. You will end up with different styles and uses for your chairs ( smooth or rough surfaces, etc ) and the parts will come in handy and save you some money and down time as you wear them out and they break . Some chairs are better for indoor use, some better for outdoor use in the yard , some are easier to handle in and out of cars, or easier to transfer to and from. You can get custom designs for playing basketball and doing many things like rollin in marathons. You're lookin' good my friend ! Keep on keepin on bro ! You can do it !!

I remember you visiting Katie and your grandson's before. So glad you have a fully equipped "home base" to continue your recovery. Here in the states we have home health aides that can come into your home 3 times a week and help with things like bathing, etc. Perhaps you can get a service like that in Canada? Not sure, but I know Katie will help you figure it all out. I am glad you are accepting the help you need. even if we don't want to admit it, we all need help at times. Ontario has Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), the socialized medicine. Jeffie is probably currently covered by British Columbia Health Plan. In Canada, the provincial health agencies work with other so that there is a relatively seamless transfer of coverage when someone moves. While each province has its own agency, and there may be differences in what is covered and what isn't, I suspect most of what Jeffie needs will be covered, including in-home help.

I've learned over the past couple of years of being physically ill is that there is strength in asking for help.
