A very thorough and thoughtful review. I used that ship for an extended period, ripped out the lower habs and buried my cargo units in their place, upgraded to c drive, went with vanguard auto beams, better engines, back up auto turrets, became quite a good combat vessel and resource hauler.
I have watched many of your reviews. I like your break downs. It's a great niche no one has really filled for the game. I hope dlcs add more ships and another manufacturer for us all eventually
I really like it, it would be cool put a bottom layer on it to get max crew. I may give it a go. Thanks for another great video. Two labs maybe it doesn't need another level, just one less lab 🙂
I can't wait for mods to fix some of the ship piece's like bridges as well as add lots of new options. The ship builder and options are great now, but it will only get better.
You know, on a design like this I would be tempted to pare the nose section back a bit, maybe even go all out and put the Hopetech front docker on it so the ship could drive straight into a dock. It would work from an RP perspective too, since you'd have a direct tunnel to move cargo from the middle of the ship onto a spacestation. That would have the added benefit of giving you an extra 3 meters of space to work with on the back of the ship for different engine configurations.
enjoyable video, were i to use this ship i would go 4 of each of the particle beam weapons you used personally, whilst that increases the total to 12 power for those weapons you dont really need to have max power in the particle weapons, the power just determines how fast they reload and doesnt impact damage etc so why not be firing as many guns as possible, on my personal ship, a mutated star eagle i have 10 particle beam weapons and they will melt a couple of ships without needing to reload :)
The random succulent and stool in the captains quarters is because it would have a navigation table there across from your 4-person meeting desk. Anything like the connected cross-way or another hab connection removes the table and the other stool, I guess that stool and succulent are considered a-ok like that. 😂
I have a head canon theory about why a trading vessel might want a good computer core. This isn't completely original as it's been used in several SF franchises and book series, and I think the original Traveller SF TTRPG. Since the lore of Starfield doesn't include FTL communications, the best way to distribute news, data and messages would be to upload it to ships before they jump to new systems and have them transmit it to ground stations or satellites via some highly compressed rapid burst upon arrival. Ships with the equipment to handle this task could earn fees for doing so, either on a contract basis for vessels reliably traveling a set route, or on an ad hoc basis not too different from picking up a physical delivery job from a mission board, e.g. "SSNN will pay x credits for the delivery of y petabytes of data to system z" or something along those lines.
I have a suggestion! You could include console ship IDs so people can spawn in the ship after watching the video. The reason I thought of this is that I just looked up the Ecliptic Claymore because mine is bugged and spawning one might fix the problems, BUT none of the ship ID lists include it nor do they include any ecliptic ships. All the ship ID lists floating around is the same incomplete list!

Thanks for the kind words. Yesh I'm hopeful for a ship builder expansion to give us more stuff to play around with

I'm on xbox and have no easy way to find the console commands
