Another trick to window tinting is to use a heat gun or hair dryer. This helps get out creases and air bubbles. It also helps the glue to dry faster. I definitely would use soap and water rather then window cleaner because the window cleaner has alcohol and ammonia which can mar the glue and make it cloudy under the tent. One last thing it would help to cut the tent more to the shape of the lens before applying it. Good job on the video.
hey, use a hair dryer while you flatten the film over the glasses, the heat helps bend the film and shape over the lens, I had tried this years back and it works
I work at a wrap shop and am doing this to my safety glasses. I haven't worked with tint, but vinyl can be heated up to curve better. I'll post back with my results
just cant please everybody. some people cant fathom the skill and expertise to create a YT video. then there was the sheer creativity of this whole video/tut as well. so in the end it just boils down to people who are jealous or hyper critical of everything around them. the "thumb downers" or TurDers are those that thought the music was bad, or that she messed up on the first lens, or maybe how long it took to get to the actual video subject. whatever it was the TurDers "thinking" they can do better but never really try "to do" better. its all in their ego.
I buy really cheap reflective sunglasses and the reflective coating, which is applied to the outside, always ends up scratching off. I feel like your way would make the reflectiveness last longer!! Definitely gonna try this over the summer~
I just love all your DIY's. I look forward to them every week, & yours are so different to everyone else's, they are all doing the same painted pot etc.. So boring. If I could afford it, I would become a patron. Just love, love, your creative ideas ❤
Next time don't use window cleaner. The adhesive & tint are petroleum base you don't want to put ammonia on tint. & use the baby shampoo water solution one drip of baby shampoo per pint spray bottle use filtered water or distilled. Cut your tint & after you peel the film off the film backing spray a heavy squirt of your soapy salutation on the sticky side of the film & lens. Place the 2 together & use a hairdryer to soften the film then work the air out of it while giving it a healthy stretching
Great video question do you have a video showing if you wanted to take off the mirror tint that you put on the glasses and would it hurt the lenses if you try to take it off thanks great video
Girl, get you some cheap prescription sunglasses from Zenni Optical! I did a couple of months ago to help me while driving and it has changed my life. I got a cute pair for 45 with shipping and a protective coat added to the lenses. totally worth it!!!
The last thing I buy online are eyeglasses. I absolutely positively must fall in love with the way I look in a frame in front of a mirror before I buy it.
You gotta be careful on that site and really pay attention to the sizes. My first 2 pair I got were baby size I swear. I just got some adult large and they're still a bit tight. The aviators I specifically got in sunglasses tint apparently were not tinted..
would this work with sunglasses that are not transparent see through. Place the tint on the sunglasses that are barley see through, just to make them more opaque.
Try applying the tint on the outside of the lenses. We made an infinity "tunnel" for the haunted house using French doors and the mirror tint, the doors were mounted about a foot apart and between them was plastic covering several sets of red and orange twinkle lights, it looked like the entrance to Hades'

Hey, I wanna thank you for making this video!! I'm a costumer by trade, and I've been looking for a very specific pair of glasses for a while now. Thanks to you, I'll be able to make them on my own!
You should be really careful with glasses tho, I wouldn't use these as sunglasses without certified uv protection. You could seriously damage your eyes. Dark glasses cause your pupils to expand and let more light through, which is why you can see better, but without Uv protection you are literally just shining the full force of the sun right into your eye. Just go careful wearing these outside if you're gonna make them folks. Great idea for cosplay and for fun, just maybe not the beach...
I have Ray Ban prescription sunglasses but they are not dark enough for my taste is there anything can do to make them darker so you can't see my eyes?
Chezlin I really enjoyed the vidio I was at a eye glass shop today and thay said insurance would pay rayman frams and the mirror tint is $180 I'm still thinking that would be $350 expensive. Your way does look cool.
Not positive. But I THINK using a heat gun or hair dryer while applying to curved lenses will help stretch/expand the areas with wrinkles. May help..? Your sp hella pretty. btw. Cute vid.
Fail, shmail! Nice skills. VERY attractive model as well, I might add. Im literally sitting down right now with a 3M full face respirator in my lap and a several yard long roll of 20% window tint, trying to get what i see in my mind's eye to exist in real life lol.. Think my problem was adding too much dish soap and water..
This was not a fail in my opinion. I have don't this many times because I like ultra dark sunglasses. I even started talking to the makers of gorilla glass. In hopes they could make some cut to fit ones for any and all sunglasses. Mostly because I have a a large collection of Rayban and oakley sunglasses and would love it if someone made a protective lens cover for the more costly sunglasses. Like they do for our phones.
Are those plastic lenses or plastic? I’m trying to add window tint to plastic lenses and I can’t seem to get the bubbles and wrinkles out no matter how hard I try

Great tips 👍🏾
Great tips for real! Using these ideas on my business
2:12 , when process begins👍
Thank you next

I love when people show their mistakes when making these how-to videos. Cuz odds are others will make the same mistakes. Great job on the video.
They turned out awesome! Definitely not a fail here
Omg for a second I thought I was the only person who thought I can car tint my back up glasses 🤓 😂 ....then I found this video.
I don’t think it’s a fail. Learned a lot that could be really useful for other projects!
I work at a wrap shop and am doing this to my safety glasses. I haven't worked with tint, but vinyl can be heated up to curve better. I'll post back with my results
Been meaning to try this. Thanks for testing it out.
How’s this a fail? Seems to work well :)

@@troyna77 hes talking about the title..
Nice! Can we do this on sunglasses that are not as clear as this?
Thank you! This is going to be super helpful for my costume projects!
Thank u for this video it's exactly what I needed to hear
Try using a hairdryer on the lenses after applying the tint. The heat will help shrink the creases out. Give it a try.
Amazing. Very clean work.👍🏾
When people do vinyl and tint they use a heat gun to make sure the air bubbles are released.
I think some sort of faux and modern stained glass art might work with this stuff.

I don't think it's a fail! It turns out so cool! I'm gonna try it out too....
Definitely going to try this. You’ve inspired me to make some glitter lenses- maybe in a next video!
I just love all your DIY's. I look forward to them every week, & yours are so different to everyone else's, they are all doing the same painted pot etc.. So boring. If I could afford it, I would become a patron. Just love, love, your creative ideas ❤
for practice I would get some cheap dollar store glasses. But yes I think I will try this
awesome job! thanks, I will do this right away to my glasses
cool thanks. Could also remove lenses on a lot of glasses to make applying the tint easier.

Fantastic girl! You killed it.
These turned out very good! I can’t see where the fail is!
Me too I have the same sunglasses and I wanna make them like that
great effort!! thanks so much🎉🎉
Top tip, with car tinting they tend to sue a hot air gun to make the tint fit to curved surfaces, a hair dryer works well too!
Great video question do you have a video showing if you wanted to take off the mirror tint that you put on the glasses and would it hurt the lenses if you try to take it off thanks great video
What kind of film did you use? Just window film, or something special for glasses?
That was fantastic! Thank you!

That was so awesome!!!!! You did not fail !
Thank you for making this video, it was very helpful. 👍
thanks for the tutorial! just ordered some mirror tint, very excited to try this method
How did they turn out?
Heat the tint up with a blow dryer, makes it stretchy. Hopefully it doesn't cause tearing in the mirror finish?
would this work with sunglasses that are not transparent see through. Place the tint on the sunglasses that are barley see through, just to make them more opaque.
Hey what mirror tint did u use I love it . Can I hire u to make my eyeglasses
I have those same exact glasses with the bar running across. I wanted to do something like this cuz i can't stand the tint. Thanks!!!
Try applying the tint on the outside of the lenses. We made an infinity "tunnel" for the haunted house using French doors and the mirror tint, the doors were mounted about a foot apart and between them was plastic covering several sets of red and orange twinkle lights, it looked like the entrance to Hades'
she said the sticky part was on the colored side, so she had to do it from the inside
I guess I missed that part, thinking about it I guess we did the "inside" of the doors

this was a pretty good video. i liked it for its content and personality. good job !!!
Awesome job!
Zenni optical is hands down the best website for fashionable and afordable prescription glasses and they offer many customizations
You should do this with transition tint
I kinda like the first pair...makes it look like the glasses are cracked, which is a cool effect, if you think about it.
Awesome job!!! Just what I was looking for 💕
Hey, I wanna thank you for making this video!! I'm a costumer by trade, and I've been looking for a very specific pair of glasses for a while now. Thanks to you, I'll be able to make them on my own!
use a hairdrier on hot to help make the tint more flexable while applying it. you wont have any wrinkles on those prescription glasses !
Lol! I have those exact pair with the hands on my face right now!
These are really cute and so are you! 😱😍
How is this a fail! They look cool dude! 😱💯
Maybe some wraparound shades a la Jubilee from X Men made with some clear acrylic material that's been bent to shape?
It looks amazing but I think it will not filter UV
You should be really careful with glasses tho, I wouldn't use these as sunglasses without certified uv protection. You could seriously damage your eyes. my prescription glasses come with uv protection, so i think I'm good
Yeah I'm hella late but I love it. Looks great 👍 I'm going to do my sunglasses like this

I wonder if heat would help for the more curved ones?
Uhm your backup prescription glasses are so cool! Did they actually come with pearls on the nose or did you add them?
It looks fine to me

Chezlin I really enjoyed the vidio I was at a eye glass shop today and thay said insurance would pay rayman frams and the mirror tint is $180 I'm still thinking that would be $350 expensive. Your way does look cool.
Very awesome

I love them so much!!!!!😆😆😆
Lenses in video are made of plastic or glass?

Thomas Edison said nobody fails, it's just an experiment until you get one right.
Good to see a creative woman being creative. That's rare😀

Are those plastic lenses or plastic?
I’m trying to add window tint to plastic lenses and I can’t seem to get the bubbles and wrinkles out no matter how hard I try
I’m wondering the same thing because I’m having trouble myself
I really like your hair. :D
Looks good to me
Coincidentally I ripped a heavy duty fart right in the middle of this video. Doesn't smell though.
Don't you get a reflection of your eye looking back at you?
This is a cute project BUT no way they are UV sun glasses!!! You should warn your public about this.
