I have been running Reconqueress swax line from the very beginning of the game so its nice to see it finally get a bump into the meta. Exhaust is awesome!
I've been running a cheeky set with Reconqueress ever since update 2 dropped. Blood Rite and Intrepid Heart are both hilariously good for zero sum spam. Also tossed in Furious for the free stamina boost now and then. Super fun to use
For alternative raw options, going for poison is insanely strong right now. With Chameleos blessing the uptime on poison and foray is very good. And Status trigger with buildup boost makes a power phial poison SA do insane raw damage. Possibly the strongest raw status build out there for solo play.
Very possible due to comments, I know I made a few comments about wanting exhaust/raw for simplicity of not switching element all the time as I climbed master ranks. Before foray made poison so stupidly good.
Can I just point out that Intrepid Heart on a Swaxe is actually insane. Each phial attack charges it, so every attack is technically two. I've had it save me multiple times. I'm actually way more impressed with the skill after using it than I was when you guys did the video on it.
A bit of irony is that the actual exhaust damage doesn't really do anything for the majority of the monsters we probably care about - only Flaming Espinas and Violet Mizutsune are still affected by exhaust damage normally. When Afflicted monsters are knocked out of their "delirious" state, they immediately enter the "exhausted" state. Elder dragons, meanwhile, can't be exhausted ever, although you do get "exhaust flinches" whenever you hit the threshold to drain stamina. You also deal stun damage if you hit the head, but it's 5 per tick, so you probably aren't getting any KOs by yourself. You're basically using the exhaust damage as a way to get an even better Power Phial via Buildup Boost.
FINALLY! I've been using the Conqueress and Reconqueress axes from the get go because I didn't want to have to be constantly switching between builds. Now I can confidently say they're viable! Also side note, using the Garangolm axe has room for better decorations and the same Exhaust damage but more raw. Only loss is that it's blue sharpness, but so much so that I almost never have to sharpen

So instead of exhaust SA you could also go for poison or paralyse, and use corresponding skills (instead of stamina thief you could use Para boost or poison boost). Right?
Question, why kushala for ice over lagombi? Are power phial and element phial similar in damage? Lagombi is ice element phial with slightly more raw slightly less element, but since it's similar I thought that would be better for ice element weak monsters that kushala. I don't know the numbers from the phial types though but I'd like to know the difference.
I noticed this back when silver los got released and we had the element exploit skill. The daora does get a small bit of natural purple and four more element, but with the power phial it doesn't get the element bonus from skills like exploit or dereliction like the lagombi axe does. The lagombi axe also gets the extra 3 slot, which can give you another level of handicraft or free up a slot for a hard element jewel so you can work in grinder or steadfast decos, since i think lagombi only needs like 1 handicraft to reach purple.
For the Exaust I would recommend dropping some attack augment for the sharpness augment which just barely reaches purple that lets you drop handicraft for other skills like Power Prolonger or Evade Extender
for solo play power prolonger is not needed in any way, it's just a comfy skill. We can maintain amped state so very easily with the counter. One evade extender is more than enough for comfort and is quite easy to get from qurio crafting.
With all the updates out now you can have the weapon reach purple sharpness by just upgrading slots. No need for any handicraft, instead just use protective polish + max grinder and you'll have 90 secs of infinite purple sharpness every time you sharpen (which is fast thanks to the max grinder deco). Raw attack if you use augment for lvl 4 attack boost and unlock all 10 slots is 400 (but you are required to be at least anomaly rank 241 for the final slot unlock). Sadly there's nothing to put in those final 2 slots since sharpness and affinity take 3 slots each while the attack boost takes 8 slots. And it's not worth it to fill up all 10 slots by dropping attack boost to level 2 and then using level 2 affinity (and sharpness would be useless since you already have purple, assuming you use protective polish). It's a pretty insane comfort build. I suppose you can also build it for damage instead of comfort skills, but if you want to max out damage you're probably better off creating a set for all different elements.
Wasn't there an Iceborne build that worked off exhaust to bully the big boys? Rolling back to what Josh said about a particular pair of legs [ Seething Bazel ] . I was using a mock-up build of my IB build in Sunbreak before they released title update 2. Now I'm torn, because it still bullys monsters but there's now a stronger version of it. Dang...
Highest theoretical damage, but I wouldn't say "best" in general as there are many different ways to play. Personally I'm running the reconqueress with a mix between offensive and defensive skills, especially divine blessing and intrepid heart along with dango defender lvl 4 food skill. Of course my base damage isn't as high as it could be, but this build allows me to be hyper agressive, meaning I don't have to spend nearly as much time healing as with a full dmg build. In fact I've been daily driving this build for the past couple days and I rarely had to use any heals whatsoever and my hunting times are pretty good.
So exhaust is a buildable status effect? I thought blunt head hits did it, naturally. And does the decos cause any weapon or just exhaust weapons to generate more exhaust?
Exhaust is a buildable status that's naturally applied by blunt attack the few exceptions to that are coatings, ammo, and the swaxes exhaust phials. The decod cause more exhaust to build like any other *name of status* boost skill. Hope this helped
Please someone educate me. I have the title update 1 builds for element and ive built something very close to this and im not seeing the numbers theyre bragging about even with elembane with 30 weakness to a part. But im proud to say the raw build i made off of referencing multiple sources that fits me best will do a crit of 438 on the head of this mitzune not counting my buffs. I have 3 coalesence and burst as well after demon drug and powder and coal proc im doing nearly 480 ish. And the augments from quiro are only slot augments, a handicraft and am attack boost. How is this better when i still visually perform better?
so yes the dmg would be better if you use att 7 instead of crit eye 7 in theory but actual play is different. the monster spends so much time immobilized through trips (goes double in anomaly hunt), traps, KO, flinch, exhaust that criting does more dmg in the end since you don't counter and Soar as much
Can some explain why he has handicraft +2? Because using handicraft 1 already hits purple so if you habe constant uptime of protective polish you wouldn't need hc2 or am I missing something?
@@thomasbtt3 no I’ve seen a lot of speed runners actually build into crit on swaxe and it always seems to be when they use power phials. I am assuming it’s because they’re staying grounded instead of doing the discharge and soaring wyvern or whatever it’s called.
@@ButtaJr96 No it's more that you have space to build crit after getting as much raw as possible on more optimal builds. So you might as well be getting more damage when doing the grounded combo. The grounded combo also has phial explosions in fact it has even more with Switcher rampage deco as that adds phial explosions to attacks that don't normally have them. This build really doesn't make sense to me. The gimmick of this is that exhaust phials trigger buildup boost on every phial explosion so wouldn't you want as much raw as possible to capitalize on this? In fact the switch axe used Reconqueress doesn't do a status except on phials so buildup boost doesn't even effect the damage of the weapons normal attacks. This build has a really neat gimmick, and idea, but it extremely poorly executed unless I am missing something important. Edit: It's also not a power phial axe so it loses the 15% bonus raw that power phial axes get. I'm really just not sold on this being the way to build. I'm also thinking that Felyne Fatality may be a better axe option too.
@@samsonweiser7504 there’s gotta be something that we are missing, in even their other build videos we see attack boost with no critical eye. In most build videos we see 0 critical eye and maybe a little critical boost, usually none.
im not denying that if you're unlucky with aguementing and talismens then this build is gonna be the way to go but just role with attack insteed plz... not to be rude, but 5 in expert does hardly anything vs a 5%+ attack boost if you really want to maximise the dmg with an exhaust SA
wouldn't going for attack boost instead of the affinity skills be more beneficial since we can't crit with phial damage? Or are we expecting to not use zsd and aerial moves and just do the bread and butter 2 stage morph combo over and over?
So power prolonger just gets ignored? I really like playing with elemental discharge on monsters heads, but these builds only focus on quick morph which is not bad I like it a ton, but is there a way to have both? Sorry if I didn’t explained myself correctly, I got used to Pprolonger 3 in Iceborne lol
Power prolonger isn't nearly as useful in this game. You have ways to very quickly get to amped state like with the counter. You can have both, but you'd need to make a sacrifice in something else. And well, right now you can upgrade even further through qurious crafting so you won't need any handicraft to reach purple for example.
Not sure why kushala’s SA is even mentioned for elemental builds, lagombi’s is way better and it’s an elemental phial. And you only need 2 HC to reach purple.
So i have a lv2 atk boost and rapid morph lv2 with a 1 lv2 slot. Is this the best possible charm rng could give me or is there something even more powerful?
It is soooooooooo unbelievably funny to see Exhaust Phials go from an eternal joke to straight-up meta, like who would have ever predicted that to happen?
Daora is 3-5 % stronger depending on how much Levels of Prolonger you use. The Natural Purple Sharpness and the absolute insane Amount of ice Elmenent (which is the highest Element on a power phial in the game) makes Lagombi Axe not really competitive
This build doesn't work like you think it does unless I am not understand something. So the phials are the only thing that does exhaust. So they are the only damage that gets buildup boost. Which is fine they get it on every phial because it always triggers. That's great, but phials can't crit so why are you going a full crit build instead of a full raw build that also gets as much crit as it can to have the weapon damage be decent as well. You're also running Switcher rampage deco for phial explosions on more attacks so you want phials to do more damage. It just seems like the way this build is optimized it wrong. I haven't like actually done the math to see if this is actually true, but intuitively this build is optimized in the wrong way for it's own gimmick. Edit: It seems like I'm very wrong about this. exhaust phials didn't work how I thought they did.
@@tomlemao7462 No the weapon doesn't actually have exhaust on it. All the phial specific status, and elements work like this. So if under a weapon's raw value it has element or status then it gets it on all attacks. If it's under the phial type then it's only on phials. It's also worth nothing that power phial axes have a 15% raw damage bonus on all phials. This is an exhaust phial so it doesn't get that. All buildup boost lv2 is doing is making up for the 15% damage on the phials that this axe is losing for not being power phial. So the only thing this build does is let you run exhaust phials while having the same base modifiers as a power phials axe. Power phials charge the slowest so this is nice. Phials also don't care about sharpness. Except this build has no raw increase so the phial damage isn't getting increased by anything on the build besides buildup boost because phials can't crit. Now not all your damage is coming from phials unless all you do is ZSD, but still this seems like a big mistake for optimizing this build. I think this build could be really cool, but not with the suggested skill priority.
@@tomlemao7462 To add to my last comment, and why you are probably confused is that sword mode attacks always have a phial explosions with them even if you are not in amped state. The Switcher Rampage deco adds phial explosions to all morph attacks even when not in amped state. Which would be great if this build built for raw.
@@tomlemao7462 Oh wait you actually are right. It does add the exhaust to the sword hit. And then in amped the phial explosion adds more exhaust to that damage, which can't crit, as a separate hit. Maybe going crit is not quite as bad as I thought. It still seems bad though because people like to spam ZSD, and not loop the ground combo like a speedrunner might.
I don’t mean to be rude but that first build is pretty terrible. Phials don’t crit. Building into crit eye is far from optimal. You would be far better off building into attack 7 which can easily be achieved with Wex 3 and CB 3.
that doesn't apply to exhaust as much. Aiming for more crit becomes better when using this Switch axe since the monster spends so much time immobilized through trips, traps, KO, exhaust you don't get to use counter or Soaring as much. so having a higher base crit nets you more dmg in the long run. if I was using Magnamalo SA then I would definitely use Att 7 over Crit eye 7. this has been my experience with the game and using exhaust alot more compared to previous MH games
Building for crit is better for power and exhaust phial switch axe as a majority of your damage doesn't actually come from the phials but the regular weapon attacks themselves, so you make crit the priority. You prioritize phial damage for element phial switch axe, which is why they swap to attack boost 7 for those sets. In conclusion: the first set is built correctly and is quite strong
I just use arc helm for20% crit and switch the crit3 charm to atk3 with same slot. Pretty much same skills around but I have max build up boost and atk4 and yes is only 70% crit just bring a cat
Three things: One, it's pretty damn rude to accuse someone of cheating without any proof beyond, "I can tell", which isn't really proof at all. And two, it's perfectly fine to be missing one or two ranks of a skill because you don't have the space for it. And three, I have a similar talisman to that, save for it has a 3 slot, so it's not that rare
Bruh this is one of the worst builds ever😂. Itcan be ok on paper I can give you that but get out of that potective polish hell. No one wants to sharpen every 90 second on 10-20 min hunt.

Exhaust is a buildable status that's naturally applied by blunt attack the few exceptions to that are coatings, ammo, and the swaxes exhaust phials. The decod cause more exhaust to build like any other *name of status* boost skill. Hope this helped
Exhaust and stun are different
Hammeeeer!! WE BEG YOU GUYS XD
Should have built for atk 7 rather than crit eye on the exhaust swaxe. Phials scale with atk, so u're losing a ton of dmg on phials and ZSD.
so yes the dmg would be better if you use att 7 instead of crit eye 7 in theory but actual play is different.
the monster spends so much time immobilized through trips (goes double in anomaly hunt), traps, KO, flinch, exhaust that criting does more dmg in the end since you don't counter and Soar as much
I’m just waiting for the charge blade video and hammer video. Then all my main weapons will have been covered
Why crit eye on the exhaust build? I thought it would be better to focus on attack boost for switch axe since the phial explosions can't crit
Most of your dmg doesn’t come from phials
Can some explain why he has handicraft +2? Because using handicraft 1 already hits purple so if you habe constant uptime of protective polish you wouldn't need hc2 or am I missing something?
Mate…I‘m still not ready for the next build…gotta build the new greatsword build🤣🙏🏼
Are you prioritizing critical eye on the exhaust build because it’s a power phial?
Its just an overall decent boost but it doesnt boost the exhaust. + 20% affinity is just more consistent
Phials don’t crit so building into CE is just all around bad. Unfortunately this is a really poorly optimized build
As a Switch Axe main:
"Unga Bunga me no understand funny numbers."
im not denying that if you're unlucky with aguementing and talismens then this build is gonna be the way to go but just role with attack insteed plz...
not to be rude, but 5 in expert does hardly anything vs a 5%+ attack boost if you really want to maximise the dmg with an exhaust SA
Does buildup boost impact powder vortex?
wouldn't going for attack boost instead of the affinity skills be more beneficial since we can't crit with phial damage? Or are we expecting to not use zsd and aerial moves and just do the bread and butter 2 stage morph combo over and over?
I dare you to do one for Gunlance. I'm using my build for so long I would love to try a "better" one.
Hi , how can I unlock the risen Chameleos? So where is the quest? What is the minimum level and so on.. I didn't saw him anywhere yet...please help!!
MR 110
that talaism is very simler to mine i have a crit eye 3 with a 4 slot
So how would the exhaust build work against elders since they are immune to the condition? Does the build-up still count?
Is there any new update to get even more Insane builds like that one after 4 Months?
Thanks 🙏
What set would we run if we wanted to go for the chameleos SA?
And you only need 2 HC to reach purple.
is ballistics necessary on exhaust SA?
Isnt attack better due to phials not being able to crit?
They didn't mention playstyle, but I think with this you'd do better with the morph combo than trying to do discharge.
So i have a lv2 atk boost and rapid morph lv2 with a 1 lv2 slot.
Is this the best possible charm rng could give me or is there something even more powerful?
lvl 3 attack boost, lvl 2 rapid morph, 1lvl2 slot(or 3 not sure) 2 lvl 1slot but this is the ultimate charm in you'r case game can't give you better
Any chance gunlance can get a ‘best build’ video? 😅
oh hey thats what im actually running now exhaust SA
Can you also do a bow build? Plsssss
It is soooooooooo unbelievably funny to see Exhaust Phials go from an eternal joke to straight-up meta, like who would have ever predicted that to happen?
Oh yeah new beuld SA FOR ME
Is the weapon nerfed? Mine only has 36 Exhaustion 😕
Ah crap...gotta remake alll my builds again xD
FINALLY!
I thought Crit skills didn’t apply as much to Swaxe?
They just don't work on the phials
Hidden Mickey!!! °O°
Why don’t you use lagombi swaxe over daora?
Daora is 3-5 % stronger depending on how much Levels of Prolonger you use.
The Natural Purple Sharpness and the absolute insane Amount of ice Elmenent (which is the highest Element on a power phial in the game) makes Lagombi Axe not really competitive
@@FoxInvictus awesome, thanks for the reply and explanation

Edit: It seems like I'm very wrong about this. exhaust phials didn't work how I thought they did.
don't the sword mode attack's actually apply exhaust as well?
How does the build in this video compare/mind sharing your build so far?
ruclips.net/video/RSIXZkWr-Kw/видео.html
@@HellsRuin you should go look up other smaller YT'ers who do the math on SW. One of them commented on the this video. You will learn otherwise.
I just use arc helm for20% crit and switch the crit3 charm to atk3 with same slot. Pretty much same skills around but I have max build up boost and atk4 and yes is only 70% crit just bring a cat
@@thomasbtt3 their math isn't correct. Crit scales better for raw focused builds, like the exhaust build shown in the video.
Nice
Prefer Tigrex Swaxe, no need for handicraft.
Tiggy with Grinder (S) outdamage all the other KO Axes by far. Best decision Bro 🦊
that talisman is cheated i can tell - how are the odds that you get that talisman for real? - another build a normal player cant achieve great job
Bruh sns
Bruh this is one of the worst builds ever😂. Itcan be ok on paper I can give you that but get out of that potective polish hell. No one wants to sharpen every 90 second on 10-20 min hunt.
