I caught a 6 pounder in 3 feet of water last week as I was checking to make sure my chatterbait was running proper. Came up and grabbed it as I was doing figure 8s at my feet. Hadn't even gotten a cast in yet. Tis the season
Good shit man! I sure do appreciate your content! I hope one day I get to meet you and learn from the master of big swims. Just recently got a 8'11 okuma and an slx. A needed upgrade for that ghost glide draw.
Seeing those fish on beds that early is your welcome to SE Texas. It won't be the last time you see males on beds in January here. You will likely see them in the little pocket at the beginning of the video in January more years than not. I would really like to see you do some of your Livescope video's on that lake in early June. The big fish can really stack up on the brushpiles then on that lake.
Hey Ben thanks for some of the detailed explanations you’ve been doing for some of the techniques you’re using. As someone who doesn’t put the time on the water as much as I’d like I find it very helpful and informative. Thank you and keep it up!
Last week I was in Los Angeles. On my way to the Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cocamungo I passed a street named Miliken.... Congrats, you have a street named after you in Los Angeles and everybody going to the Bass Pro Shop sees it.....
In my years of fishing I have come to believe from experience that lots of big females will stage up to beds and spawn very early during the year . With just a few days of unseasonable warm weather the big girls will move up and start their spawning process as early as late January . I have seen this repeated through the years and all it seems to take is 3 to 5 days of warm weather .
Hey Mr. Ben! Where can we get those glasses you are wearing. I cannot find them on the website. I like the large side sheilds and the full glass front.
I had a first the other day. I’ve been bass fishing exclusively for about 7 years and in those 7 years I’ve never seen this before until about 3 days ago. A maybe 2 pound IF THAT bass had a good 10 inch rainbow trout in its mouth with only about 3 inches of its tail sticking out. Pretty crazy to me lol
I’m just gonna start commenting on every video “ hey I know where that is.” 😂😂 get the comments slamming on your videos. Even though I’ve never fished in Texas lol. I need to start I’m actually in Austin right now working. I work in Texas a lot I need to start bringing my fishing gear. Actually I’m about to add the milliken travel rod to my cart now. You bet
How should I fish the muddy lakes I have around me in middle Georgia there all really stained I know there’s big bass cause there have great populations on bluegill crappie and gizzard Shad’s I just don’t know what to present this time of year water temp has been in the mid to lower 50s weather has been raining a lot so all the lakes are full
@@AlabamaBassin will do I’m a little further south but my uncle fishes Lanier but that lake is really clear water I fish a backwoods bass tournament and all the lakes on the list are creek fed and really muddy pore visibility water you can’t even see a bed in 2ft of water a lot of people on RUclips fish the clear lakes and it’s the muddy ones I have issues with
You need to work on your landing technique if you’re going to fish the pro bass tournament’s. Everyone that his the deck is a penalty. Just a thought 😊
My personal best was 13.2 pounds..caught in bonita springs Florida in 2 feet of water under a drain pipe in the canal system for a golf course. Almost 30 years ago now. I miss Florida so much... tight lines man!
@MillikenFishing1.. I am too old know what that even means man. But thank you I do appreciate it. I may try to install it but I wouldn't even know how to use it.
Big fan of your videos. Have been for a long time. Not a fan of you throwing your scrap line in the water (12:32) even if it is in the heat of the moment. Maybe spin it up and put in the glove box or in your pocket until you can get to a garbage can. Scrap line in props or tangled around wildlife isn’t cool.
Bro I know you been fishing for a long time....However, I think you need to chill out just a tad bit on your hook sets. That crazy throttle is not necessary. When you do that, you make the hole in their mouth bigger than it should be. If they jump, it is probably more likely that it comes off. When your hook set breaks your line, you should right away know that you are setting too hard bro. I'm just trying to help you. We fish completely different areas, not like you are my competition or anything. I never miss that many fish dude. Plus you set way too fast, you need to let them have it like .5 seconds longer bro. You don't even give them time to eat the whole bait.... that's why you were losing baits and had no fish on it. Just give it a try bro. Just hold the trigger a fraction longer before going ape shit and dont set it so damn hard. You look like me trying to penetrate a tarpons boney mouth.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes the apocalypse is coming, and soon. You’d better stop releasing those fish and save them for sustenance. 😂 Or after watching the video, landing more of them. Lol
Apocalypse means unveiling. When God is completely revealed. Instead of trying to hoard fish, just put your trust in Jesus and you don’t have to worry about the apocalypse or what happens when you die. Much better than trusting in a pile of fish to get you through.
I love your videos my friend. I am a fellow animal lover. In no way am I trying to hate. But you should secure your dog much better then that. All it takes is one slight spook because of a bump and your dog would get hurt or killed. I hope you consider preventing a pretty bad accident before it happens. Keep up the good videos!
Till you smack a hole in your boat from a stump or rock and your dogs tied to the boat at the bottom of the lake or flipped upside down. A good reason there's no seat belts on boats.
@@austinhubatch6070 id take the chances of that happening over the dog getting spooked. Of course there is a risk no matter your view. If you situation was the case, the dog would still be seriously injured or killed.
Once you miss about 6 or 7 fish wouldn’t you maybe think your setting the hook too hard? Not trying to hate but he says “it’s a smart fish” as he’s ripping it’s lips off.
I laughed way too hard at that fish slamming into the trolling motor!
That bass looked like a bad day on the Moto GP circuit

Personal experience, the bass love to eat just the bullet weight when it’s not pegged (always peg it)
Impressed by your skipping and definitely impressed by your Hooksett at the 3:14 mark.
Bed fish hate closing their mouths all the way! 😆 So fun!

“That guy got a headache” had me weak😂😂😂😂
I live in South Florida, and the bedding season literally started in December!
Yessir!
From what I have seen you should do very well on the tour. I like your vids and I wish you luck
I love that he is bed fishing in january as there is 24 inches of ice on the lakes by me.
My MAN!!! I can’t wait for the season to be in full swing. Keep’em cummin my dude 🌳😎🌲
3:10 😂😂😂 that fish probably has no f***in idea what even happened. Bit a shad and then was flying through the air 😂
I caught 8 on beds Monday-Further south from you in a local bayou. I’ve seen them spawning in late January on Conroe several times over the years.
They spawn early every year in that pocket... Couple years ago I saw a few on the bed early November in there.
Well Bass can spawn year round in warm climates like Texas and Florida, which is dope.
Last week I was in Los Angeles. On my way to the Bass Pro Shop in Rancho Cocamungo I passed a street named Miliken.... Congrats, you have a street named after you in Los Angeles and everybody going to the Bass Pro Shop sees it.....
Fun fact. You can catch tanks on the beds. They bite rubber lizards out of anger and hunger. Salamanders and stuff eat their eggs.
Great video brother!!!
Love it. Bed fishing now? How crazy
My PB’s have all been in 2 feet of water in November in Washington! It was cold and sleeting!

Hey can you tell us what reel exactly you use for flipping? Thanks!!!
yo ben! are you planning on doing any bed fishing with the trace? curious as to how they’d react to a swimbait slow twitch and hover on bed
That's not fair! The 6 does not carry a "chartreuse sungill" color for the hogwalla.
at the start of January I was bedfishing here in central Florida. Im pretty sure florida bass just bed early in general though

We see bed fish in late January ND February in some water in California.
Love love this video.
You mentioned the Zark rod when is he coming back down.
Do you have any idea when your first tourney will be for 2023?
Hey, I Fish there all the time
Nice pond.
Are you going to post a video from the Caney tournaments?
I had no idea that bass spawned in January! Manbearpig?
Are you planning on posting your recent tournament videos?
Been waiting on a video of this lake
What lake is it?
Conroe
Do you oil your Shimano reels?
Remember, just a little dab il do ya!
“Fish thinking about wanting ta maybe think about if they wanna, haha hit that like right when I heard that there
Looks like fun
That place reminds me a lot of Carolina cove off the Trinity river In riverside Texas
I saw that you caught a 30 pound bag but placed 3rd at Caney Lake
Yeah I shit the bed and missed my big bites. Could have had a mid 40…next time
We're those the 6th 3D Eyes that you added to the Whale?
Can you give me some tips on Conroe?
Kurth Lake in Lufkin, Tx. Watch for the gators, and thank me later.

At the 9min mark it looks like you're fishing at wildwood shores....
Personally I wouldn't bedfish with the hogwalla. Too many long tenticals for them to grab onto and not get hook. But hey who am I
When condition is right bedding sounds good to s bass
You lucky SOBs down in Texas. Wont have anything close to this until the 2nd or 3rd week in March

I don’t think your 180* yank isn’t getting the hook set maybe pull harder with a full 360* spin with the yank
I think catching all the double digits you forgot how to hook set them 3s and under lol
😮great way to end?😊

Why does your whale swimbait have realistic eyes?? Lol
U probably lost that fish because u ripped the hook so hard it tour through the bass thin lip
If you could see my teeth you would probably stop using your teeth to bite off the line! ite woody
