What an amazing woman, sadly damaged in her early years. So much talent, delivering haunting photographs at times, a true photo artist. Far better than so many around her. It is good to know that her son Anthony Penrose has her collection. Than you for posting Joel.

Thank you for highlighting this amazing woman and creative. I am a huge Lee Miller fan. To me, her life was bookended with tragedy - but between her rape at 7, and her undiagnosed PTSD from witnessing the horrors of war, she shone as a highly intelligent, driven and independent 'new woman' who was arguably the prototypical super model, while striving to move past the objectification of her outstanding beauty to be considered for her creativity and technical skills as a photographer. She maintained she would rather take a picture than be one. She was also a very talented literary journalist. Huge respect.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! 😊 I couldn’t agree more - Lee Miller’s life was full of challenges, but her strength, creativity, and intelligence really made her stand out. I love how she transformed herself from being in front of the camera to behind it, proving her incredible skills as a photographer and writer. She truly was an inspiring figure.
I’m glad to see fellow fans like you appreciating her work! Stay tuned for more content, and feel free to share it with anyone who might find it interesting! Have a great day! 🌟

Incredible! This is a fascinating woman. I had never heard of this most talented and charming lady in my life. Thank you Joel Ulises and her beloved son, who continues to promote his beloved mothers body of work she left behind. From the documentary we can see that she came from a family of real go-getters. I just can't understand her photos being that good and still were not giving the recognition both the photos and the photographer deserve. Perhaps she suffered from P. D. S. Only now do we understand this from solders who have been at war. Perhaps, this explains why she withdrew from the chaotic and term-oil profession in which she saw so much destruction in her life time. Either way she was indeed a gifted and talented photographer and in a league of a hand full of women who were ahead of their time. Indeed she was and is a true iconic woman in her own right. May she R.I.P. Roger

She was not surrealist, but rather a subject of surrealist. She was at most a marginal photographer.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It's always interesting to hear different perspectives on Lee Miller's work and her role within the surrealist movement. While some might see her as more of a muse or subject, others recognize her significant contributions as a photographer. The complexity of her career and influence allows for a variety of interpretations, and I appreciate you taking the time to add yours to the conversation.
