Mclaren F1 GTR by Fujimi build - Part 1, unboxing

Hello,
We are finally doing this! this was planned to be my big build of 2022. With the Enzo taking over three months with me finding less and less build time these days, I figured I'd work on it now just to make sure it gets done this year. It is my honour to bring to you the McLaren F1 GTR by Fujimi.

Nice kit so far.....
I built the road car a few years ago so I kind of remember what to look out for. The cowls on the headlights, the flimsy doors and the fender extension things.

You'll find with Fujimi (and also Aoshima) especially on the enthusiast kits, they like to make things separate parts just for the sake of increasing their parts count. They are also notorious for reusing sprues from other kits. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

I'm hacking the body up now to get all the openings clear so I can add mesh and make it look right.

Really looking forward to this build. Very interesting looking kit. Shame about that one piece engine but not too out of place on many fujimi kits. Hurry and get building! I want to see where this goes. 😂😂

Luckily this one is mostly hidden under the rear bonnet and isn't really visible once assembled. So it's not so bad. Still, I'd like a bit more detail for such an iconic car.

I wish they had a bit more detail. As a curb side kit, its phenomenal. I just prefer full engines.....I enjoy building them.
