The use of a light strip and cool/warm white lights for an overhead light is great. I also found the defuser for the color lights to really make these beautiful. Great to see you back at videos 😀
@@JeffFromMichigan Hi, it isn’t actually available until the 29th, so just a few more hours before it goes on sale. I’ll be posting links as soon as it goes live, along with discount codes.
Looks like a nice light, I might have considered one if I hadn't already fitted a pair of the Yeelight Arwen dome lights a couple of years ago. But comparing this to the Yeelight, this one is let down by a horrible fitting solution, the Yeelight has a small bracket that you screw into the ceiling and then the bulk of the light just clips in. This one has better RGB than the Yeelight which is limited to a single colour only. Not sure about the app control as I haven't used the app for my light since I added it to Home Assistant (which doesn't require a hub) and it came with a bluetooth remote that I sometimes use.
Right, I do hint in the Pros & Cons section that Yeelight’s ceiling lights have a much better solution compared to the fittings for this light. I can only assume that Yeelight may have trademarked it perhaps.
Hi, unfortunately I don’t have any info as to when the M3 will launch internationally. It’s already available in China, but half the features that make it worthy aren’t active yet - Thread Border Router, Matter Controller, and third party Matter/Thread device support.
Another great review. I plan to purchase a couple of these for my new home. Do you happen to know what the difference is between the L1-350 and the T1M? They seem very similar to me bar costs.. Thanks ;)
Hi, the T1M has the ring LED in addition to the main light, whilst the L1-350 only has a main light. The T1M is brighter too, which is due to the size and amount of LEDs.
Hi, it’ll be available to purchase after midnight PST. There will likely also be a discount code at this time. I’ll be posting purchase links and codes then.

Hi, the lumen count wasn’t listed on the box, but I recall seeing it on a website just yesterday, so I’ll find it and get back to you. As for the ring light, it’s really just for accent lighting - or for notifications if you set it up for that, so the lumens aren’t going to be too high. That said, I can use the ring light alone to light up our living room enough for you to see where you’re going at night, without any issues.
Thanks for the review. I recently got this one, and installed in a room where i have the Aqara Switch S1E. But i been having problems setting up the basics like turn it on or off. If i use switch for the relay to turn on/off then I can’t use the second button to turn on the side ring light. Then i tried not using any switch but just using them as wireless buttons. But somehow sometimes when i click turn on/off light then it does go on but then off automatically not sure why. (And vice-versa) any tips for this ?
@@whennn ok, combining a smart switch and a smart light is not usually good practice, as once you turn the switch off, you’re essentially disconnecting the light from power and therefore rendering the light offline. What you might be able to do, is set one of the wired switches to wireless mode, which then should allow you to control the light (you’d have to create an automation first) and also keep it online.
@@homekitnews yes that’s what my second point was, i change the S1E screen to now show the Relay switches but just Wireless switches, and then i create 2 automations. 1 for BUTTON 1 and 1 for BUTTON 2. Thanks for the info! I'm planning on buying one from Taobao and didn't even know it was rated only at 220V. It became my main concern cause I live in Taiwan. Would it be fine working at 110V in the long run? I wonder if something inside the international version makes it compatible with 110V.
Hi, I’ve been running the T1 (Chinese version) for 9 months in Taiwan myself, and I’ve not encountered any issues at all. Many devices like this already have the relevant parts to make them work with both standards, it’s usually just the certification that hasn’t been gone through when it’s not required for a product that’s only destined for a country with only one voltage standard (China in this case). The devices that tend to have only one standard are higher voltage devices like toasters, kettles or electric ovens.
@@homekitnews Thanks for the quick response. Then I'm relieved. The only problem left is the mounting because I want to use the existing mount but it's incompatible with the light. Drilling seems to be the only option here.
@ringwraith911 it wasn’t massively easy for me to install, but only because I had to drill into a concrete ceiling (we live on the top floor). I guess it depends on what you need to drill into, but having a decent drill is first and foremost important.

Why no sign of installation efforts information? Wiring information etc?
I’m not an electrician, so I prefer not to give advice on wiring.

Should this be compatible with a Lutron Caseta light switch?
Not really, as once you turn the Lutron switch off, it’ll disconnect the light from power, rendering it offline.

The auxiliary looks rather dim.
