Your collage work is lovely as always. Taking a break from journal making is needed from time to time. What you are doing is making your crafting supplies more manageable. Your next journal will be adorned with the wonderful makes on days like today. Rest well, eat right, drink plenty of water and have another dose or two of time in your husband's arms.
I do still watch the news because I need to know what needs to be done to try to mitigate the problems, what letters need to be written, what phone calls need to be made, what candidates need to be supported, what tragedies exist that need donations, and, as you pointed out, what to pray for. Yes, it is stressful, and that is one of the reasons I stop by your channel once a day to remind myself that there are good people, people filled with kindness, generosity, hope, inclusiveness, and sympathy. The journaling community is a light in a world too filled with darkness. Case in point - an artist who is stressed because celebrating her own birthday and hanging out with her husband has taken time away from her viewers. if you don't feed yourself, you will not be able to sustain anyone else. Party all year long! If you want to make more collage pages tomorrow, do it. I either learn something new, or am reminded of something I have forgotten, every time I visit your channel. You always make me smile, and I am not alone in that. What you do for this community remains a gift, not an obligation. If you want to spend the morning dancing in the kitchen with Mike, go for it. i really like the script collage page you made!! i never thought of doing this with script and turning it sideways and upside down tyvm for sharing ! i too, have done other many other crafts before, i started to make journals. i have crocheted, embroidery - liquid and regular kind ive painted (not professionally) LOL i also have probably over 3,000 postcards
It would be cute to add little parts of the florintine paper or labels on the writing side too. Just to tie them together here and there. Not big pieces. Maybe like one label cut into 6 parts to just have a little pop here or there? Could be cute and add a little more interest to the other side

Hi Gayle, I love your channel! I am a bit new to collage, so I want to ask you about the ruler you are using. How is it different from any other ruler? 🙂
It’s a Tim Holtz brand ruler and the one side curves down toward the paper to creat a tight seal with the surface and makes tearing paper super easy. The trick is to hold down firmly. 👍❤️
I am a new subscriber and new to junk journaling. When you make a pocket or tag out of the collaged piece, do you do more decorating to it, or is that then done? If you do decorate do you see any of the collage?
Hi Diann! Welcome to my channel! I’m so glad you’re here! I usually sew around the edges of my ephemera made from master boards (but it’s not necessary) to give it extra texture. Then I’ll add a focal point such as a flower or bird and maybe a label or word as well. Now that you’re here, you’ll see me use these pieces a lot and decorate the cards, tags and pockets on camera too. The collage ends up being the “background” of the piece, so you see bits and pieces of it. Often the collage itself will dictate how I decorate so as to leave certain parts visible. Hope that helps! ❤️
Ahhh, collage is so therapeutic. I think my favourite was the very first one you did with all the text. I'm sorry your friend is not in the right space to avail of your journal enthusiasm. I can tell you were looking forward to a real life craft buddy. Perhaps she might enjoy some social crafting time with you when she needs a break from the rest of what she has going on, as a kind of art therapy. Perhaps work on little projects over time and then surprise her with a journal comprised on the things she did with you? Question: the clear like see through ,people use does it come from Amazon’s, or Etsy or free in mail? I have tried to find it however, not being successful. I think cori use some to sandwich flowers. Any ideas?
Are you thinking of acetate? Try searching that term. Yes some packaging comes with acetate, so free, but you can also buy it, they even sell it at Michael’s I think in the wedding invitation section.
I had a thought when you mentioned sending out some journals, have you ever noticed if you’ve ever sold a journal to someone that wasn’t a subscriber or a patron, just someone who randomly found your journal on Etsy?
I haven’t really looked at that. I recognize a lot of the folks that purchase from either YT or Patreon. With the millions of shops, the chance of someone just stumbling onto my shop is pretty slim. 😂❤️
Does your hubby still make you an energy shake? I thought was so cool that he would hand deliver it to you. I think we still not use to be around people and going out and about. I stress out a bit even getting my hair cut or going out to dinner.

Journal cards, usually around 6 x 4 inches or a size for the spot in a journal where I want to put them. Folded length wise, tags. 👍❤️

Hi Gayle, I love your channel! I am a bit new to collage, so I want to ask you about the ruler you are using. How is it different from any other ruler? 🙂
It’s a Tim Holtz brand ruler and the one side curves down toward the paper to creat a tight seal with the surface and makes tearing paper super easy. The trick is to hold down firmly. 👍❤️

I am a new subscriber and new to junk journaling. When you make a pocket or tag out of the collaged piece, do you do more decorating to it, or is that then done? If you do decorate do you see any of the collage?
Hi Diann! Welcome to my channel! I’m so glad you’re here! I usually sew around the edges of my ephemera made from master boards (but it’s not necessary) to give it extra texture. Then I’ll add a focal point such as a flower or bird and maybe a label or word as well. Now that you’re here, you’ll see me use these pieces a lot and decorate the cards, tags and pockets on camera too. The collage ends up being the “background” of the piece, so you see bits and pieces of it. Often the collage itself will dictate how I decorate so as to leave certain parts visible. Ahhh, collage is so therapeutic. I think my favourite was the very first one you did with all the text. I'm sorry your friend is not in the right space to avail of your journal enthusiasm. I can tell you were looking forward to a real life craft buddy. Perhaps she might enjoy some social crafting time with you when she needs a break from the rest of what she has going on, as a kind of art therapy. Perhaps work on little projects over time and then surprise her with a journal comprised on the things she did with you? If I was not living half a world away I'd be pestering you on the doorstep every day. "Come on Gayle. Let's go play in your craft room!" 😆

Nope. Sew around the edges of the ephemera pieces and they are good to go! ❤️
Question: the clear like see through ,people use does it come from Amazon’s, or Etsy or free in mail? I have tried to find it however, not being successful. I think cori use some to sandwich flowers. Any ideas?
Are you thinking of acetate? Try searching that term. Yes some packaging comes with acetate, so free, but you can also buy it, they even sell it at Michael’s I think in the wedding invitation section.
I also use page protectors cut to size for a see through project. ❤️

I had a thought when you mentioned sending out some journals, have you ever noticed if you’ve ever sold a journal to someone that wasn’t a subscriber or a patron, just someone who randomly found your journal on Etsy?
I haven’t really looked at that. I recognize a lot of the folks that purchase from either YT or Patreon. With the millions of shops, the chance of someone just stumbling onto my shop is pretty slim. 😂❤️

Does your hubby still make you an energy shake? I thought was so cool that he would hand deliver it to you. I think we still not use to be around people and going out and about. I stress out a bit even getting my hair cut or going out to dinner.
