Terrific story. I’m so tickled to learn that Keith Hampshire is Canadian! He also seems to have his head screwed on right. He made a wise choice to opt for family life over life on the road.
Wow what a trip down memory lane. I remember those early 70s hits, listening to CKOC Radio in Hamilton that I picked up in Whitby Ontario. Big Time Operator, great song. If I recall correctly Keith also sang the OKAY BLUE JAYS song that was pumped out at the Seventh Inning Stretch during Jays home games! Still a classic song.
I remember Keith Hampshire (Keefers) on Radio Caroline South in 1967. It was however anchored about 4 miles off Frinton, Essex, in the North Sea, not (as stated in the video) in the English Channel.

What a likeable man and such a pleasure to know he’s still around🇨🇦💕.
Another humble Canadian, I love it 🎙

Disappointed they never mentioned Keith's biggest hit-- "OK Blue Jays" seventh inning stretch.
Never knew that part, thanks!
I remember all of these songs when they came out. In fact I thought Kieth wrote The First Cut is the Deepest!
