then the 2000's came along and stopped allowing WOMEN To be sex symbols, now a sex symbol has to be a teenage girl or a women in their 20's.... miss when women in their 30's and 40's where given leading roles. Michelle was 34 during this movie :)
Me to i saw this in theaters when i was 10 years old and also watched Batman TAS religiously/taped every episode the same year this came out. You remember that show too?
Catwoman: How could you? I'm a woman! Batman: Sorry...I-I.. Batman's stupid. I would've never apologised and helped. Just because she's a woman, doesn't mean she can't be hit for her attack.
mikeh021 I think she was actually trying to gain sympathy as a woman fooling him and buying time until she takes him by surprise - typical tactics used by villainesses on heroes and generally women on men sometimes. Well, she is still my favourite female comic book character - she's got a lovely chemistry with the Bat.
Earlier in the film, Catwoman tells a woman (after beating up her mugger), "You make it so easy, don't you? Always waiting for some Batman to save you. I am Catwoman. Hear me roar!" That's a take-off on "I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar," which was the rallying cry for the women's liberation movement in the '70s. It was also the title of a feminist song by Helen Reddy, released in that decade.
I'm not taking anything away from Michelle Pfeiffer's performance as Selina Kyle/Catwoman from this movie since it's one of the best supervillain performances in superhero movie history, but I say that there should have been a different, better characterization of the character instead of this dark version that we got as well as a much better costume design since its been said that Michelle Pfeiffer could hardly breathe in the outfit. And I also say that there should have been a spin-off movie of Catwoman with Michelle Pfeiffer in the leading role in the 90s as well.
Paul:With Catwoman The Filmmakers Really Had To Reinvent The Character You Wanted To Have Somebody Who Was Caught Between The Two Worlds Of Batman And The Penguin Oswald And Bruce So What Better Way To Show That Than A Character Who Is In Somewhat In Conflict With Herself Who Goes From Being A Very Mousy Put Upon Woman Who Comes Back To Avenge The Crime That Was Done To Her
Why didn't Bob Kane and Bill Finger create male version of Catwoman and in that male version of Catman's name was Selina Kyle and Bob Kane didn't do the right thing about catwoman's character name was Selina Kyle and I suggest catwoman's new name was Selinia not Selina and then Bob Kane created this female villainess version of Selinia Kyle/Catwoman
In the interviews, Michelle Pfeiffer is so different than playing Catwoman. I love how she plays Selina in this film. She nailed it with, "...Life's a bitch, now so am I!" and other parts of Catwoman that were unforgettable. "You killed me...The Penguin killed me...The Batman killed me...Three lives down, you got enough to finish me off?!" It's such a great character that seems so intriguing.
She`s the one and only CATWOMAN. Perfect and so brilliant !
What about Julie Newmar/Lee Meriwether, Adrienne Barbeau and Ann Hathaway?
Still the best Catwoman on film to date.
The best Catwoman EVER!!!
Michelle’s performance was beautifully powerful and brilliant. 💓
Michelle pheiffer was and is so bangin

MrJasen22 he’s a genius for making everyone believe that he created Batman and all these characters by himself.
One word: Yum.
Catwoman is the black and white of Justice and vengeance.
Catwoman: How could you? I'm a woman!
Batman: Sorry...I-I..
Batman's stupid. I would've never apologised and helped. Just because she's a woman, doesn't mean she can't be hit for her attack.
Ashraf Anam You do know she said that as a way to mock the notion that women are weak, right? That's why she attacked him after.

Do the joker in batman 1989
Did Bob Kane really create Cat woman or did he just claim he did like every other original Batman character?
Bob Kane didn't create cat woman

Michael:Batman Has A Problem He’s Only Attracted To Bad Girls And The Catwoman Is The Perfect Foil For Him In That Regard
She was hot in this movie
The amount of shit coming from Bob Kane. Dude makes it seem like he just craps gold
How do you mean?
Cool
The "Catwoman"
"It goes beyond feminism into something creepy and feminine"
So, still feminism?
