DDP reversing the Jackhammer into a Diamond Cutter is my favorite reversal ever, one of DDP’s rare “outta nowhere” cutters and probably the closest Goldberg was to losing his streak, and it was ALMOST a clean win for DDP.
It's insane how Orton makes his counters look so easy, like he doesn't even have to try. Of course it is also dependent on whoever he is in the ring with but he is an expert at making himself and his opponent look like a million bucks
that curb stomp into styles clash at money in the bank 2019 was incredible i was actually at the event and my jaw dropped seeing that counter that was phenomenal pun intended.
Part of what I like about finishers like Kenny Omega’s One Winged Angel, is that it’s kept legitimate as a match ender, but the mystique lies in wrestlers trying to counter. That’s a criticism of modern wrestling is that finishers are spammed in matches and lose luster, where as finishers such as these allow fresh takes on these devastating moves.
I was there live for the Naomi & Nia Jax match. That was a cool moment & everyone in the arena popped for that moment. It was really cool 😎 that took place in Milwaukee.
What made Taker's catch of Shawn to finish him off even more awesome is that he literally had to catch HBK in mid air and have enough strength to keep him situated in the pre tombstone and then be able to execute it without a hitch. Taker was at his best during this time which made what he did to HBK, one of the greatest counters into a finishing move in modern wrestling history.
Wrestlelamia, what about Kurt Angle countering Shawn Michaels' "Sweet Chin Music" into his anklelock from their rivalry in 2005? Or Randy Orton countering John Cena's "Attitude Adjustment" into the RKO at Bragging Rights 2009?
One counter that I will never forget is Asuka countering Cameron's slap into a mid-air armbar on an episode of NXT in 2015. The crowd and the announce team were absolutely gagged.
The two most impressive counters i’ll never forget The Rock rock bottoming eddie guerrero who reversed it into an arm drag!! Asuka countering Charlotte Flair Moonsaught in Wrestlemania.. I replayed it so many times and I don’t know how she did it!
Taker on Batista. I was at that ppv. No Way Out. Not sure if that was the ppv that Taker was thrown through tbe cage. Literally. The door swung open on them. Wasn't suppose to happen.
@theonlygoodonehere2259 not the way he did in the opening of this video. Countering a move into the Tombstone piledriver from the other side of the ropes
Randy Orton countering Seth Rollins Stomp into the RKO should've been on the list, but personally I think you could have a full separate list of counters Randy's done into the RKO 😅
Letting Mustafa Ali and Ricochet go were horrible decisions. They were exciting and creative. Honestly, I think wwe would do well to create an additional championship for those that can do 'the flippy stuff'. You don't need much in the way of storytelling. All you have to do is wheel them out during PPV's to perform a match that they can spend the weeks in between, choreographing, so every PPV match would definitely be the best match visually.
Randy Orton counters Seth Rollins Curb Stomp into a RKO and counters Evan Bourne moonsalt from the top rope into a RKO should've been on this list easily.
Where's the Seth Rollins Curb Stomp to Randy Orton RKO WrestleMania 31?
Easily should be on here
Should be #1 instead of that rolling thunder counter.
Yes
I was just about to comment that.... fuckin MASTERPIECE.
Even the Shooting StaRKO is not present.
#11 Taker in a podcast said they rehearse the spot before the show but never succeeded. They nailed it during the live show.
I think Randy said the same thing about the stomp RKO spot in his match vs Seth at wrestlemania 31.
Perfection
Just like the Curb Stomp into the RKO at WM 31.
DDP reversing the Jackhammer into a Diamond Cutter is my favorite reversal ever, one of DDP’s rare “outta nowhere” cutters and probably the closest Goldberg was to losing his streak, and it was ALMOST a clean win for DDP.
A low blow can counter a stink face too. I remember Stone Cold doing that to Rikishi when he tried to stink face him. LOL
It's insane how Orton makes his counters look so easy, like he doesn't even have to try. Of course it is also dependent on whoever he is in the ring with but he is an expert at making himself and his opponent look like a million bucks
And that is why he's one of WWE's absolute legends.
WM31 RANDY COUNTERED SETH
Dude, I'm surprised that it wasn't on the list. That counter was INCREDIBLE
In my opinion, should be in the #1 spot.
Imagine there was a gimmick where somebody could counter any finisher, man the creativity they could do with it
it would have to be a top guy though, I think cena was kinda like that because he was supercena
Mustafa Ali countering the RKO was so cool
The counter is so similar to Carmelo Hayes' counter of the BFT.
@@Warrioruk and similar to Tiffany encounter Naomi face buster 😂
I will never forget the way Ali reversed that RKO, I will never forget it. It was cool as hell.
It was really smart, and it made so much sense. Plus, no one saw it coming
that curb stomp into styles clash at money in the bank 2019 was incredible i was actually at the event and my jaw dropped seeing that counter that was phenomenal pun intended.
Randy Orton and DDP were the masters of countering moves with the cutter
Randy Orton countering Evan Bourne should be number one.
better yet when countered Seth Rollin's stomp into an RKO
Great mention
Yesss!!!
No
Bro i was just about to write this
AJ Styles doing Styles Clash by countering Curb Stomp was amazing
Part of what I like about finishers like Kenny Omega’s One Winged Angel, is that it’s kept legitimate as a match ender, but the mystique lies in wrestlers trying to counter. That’s a criticism of modern wrestling is that finishers are spammed in matches and lose luster, where as finishers such as these allow fresh takes on these devastating moves.
FACTS.
Finishers are "spammed" because in WWE are not called "Finishers", they're signature moves.
That Shawn Michael and Sheldon spot got added to the intro
I was there live for the Naomi & Nia Jax match. That was a cool moment & everyone in the arena popped for that moment. It was really cool 😎 that took place in Milwaukee.
Look up Baron Corbin giving Chad Gable the end of days in NXT.
Randy Orton countering Chockslam to Undertaker by doing RKO was memorable
kurt was wild for that
Rock vs Eddie Guererro match was underrated
I thought I was the only one who noticed Randy Orton countering RVD in 2013. 😂
The Stomp into an RKO should be #1
Undertaker vs Kurt Angle at No Way Out was classic
Randy Orton countering Seth's curbstomp into an rko should be #1.
3rd comment from Durban south africa 🇿🇦
Phoenix splash into the styles clash from summerslam 2019 was great
Anyone who can reverse a move into a Hurricanrana or Spanish Fly.
Ali: Anyone ever just put your arms out? No? Lol.
how about when AJ Styles countered Ricochet by front suplexing him off the ropes and catching him into a Styles clash? that was epic!

Or Randy Orton countering John Cena's "Attitude Adjustment" into the RKO at Bragging Rights 2009?
That Kurt Angle counter wasn't anything spectacular. He just had to catch the foot and lock in the hold.
Whole list could just be Randy Orton spots
A underrated counter is Randy Orton turning John Cena’s Attitude Adjustment into an RKO during there 1 hour iron man match at Bragging Rights 2009
he did it in a tables match with cena too in like 2010
One counter that I will never forget is Asuka countering Cameron's slap into a mid-air armbar on an episode of NXT in 2015. The crowd and the announce team were absolutely gagged.
Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels at WM 25 was instant classic
Where's the Baron Corbin End of Days to Dean Ambrose Dirty Deeds WrestleMania 33?
The two most impressive counters i’ll never forget
The Rock rock bottoming eddie guerrero who reversed it into an arm drag!!
Asuka countering Charlotte Flair Moonsaught in Wrestlemania.. I replayed it so many times and I don’t know how she did it!
OH DAMN!!!
I WROTE THIS BEFORE SEEING IT MADE THE LIST!!!!
Both people in each move in this countdown deserve praise.
It takes teamwork
Shelton Benjamin was damn underrated
John Cena vs Batista feud was underrated
mid, batista looked so dumb in the feud
That handstand from Mustafa ali was terrific if only wwe did more with when he was here
You are missed Eddie R.I.P.
Two decades later, still not forgotten. Still the GOAT. Now THAT is a legacy.
Randy Orton RKO to Mustafa Ali is savage
Mustafa Ali so much wasted potential. WWE dropped the ball Big Time on him. 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏻♀️
I enjoyed that. Good stuff
Curb Stomp into the RKO maybe the greatest ever.
Well ali, that was impressive..😂😂
aj styles reversing the aa into the styles clash way better
What about that Wrestlemania Curb Stomp into R K Outta nowhere ?
I thought that would be no 1 here 😁
Should be #1.
I just watched Ali's CVV interview talking about that counter. It was pretty cool.
AJ Styles countering the RKO and them pointing at each other lives rent free in my head
Yo dude, What happened to the stomp counter into an rko at wrestlemania 31?
Taker on Batista. I was at that ppv. No Way Out. Not sure if that was the ppv that Taker was thrown through tbe cage. Literally. The door swung open on them. Wasn't suppose to happen.
taker beat batista a lot
@theonlygoodonehere2259 not the way he did in the opening of this video. Countering a move into the Tombstone piledriver from the other side of the ropes
@@RojoCube yeah
We need a sequel about smartest counters, but outside of the WWE (as in on other promotions, past and current alike).
Yes
RIP eddie guerrero u are missed
Dean Malenko is safest worker
Seth's Curb Stomp into the RKO at Wrestlemania definitely has to be number 1
2:00 that spot looks a bit like an inverted spanish fly
Randy rko counter to taker in Wrestlemania was awesome.
I still believe that they should've given the Streak to Orton, HBK or HHH...
Or Bray Wyatt
vader moonsaulting taker and him catching him for the tombstone is #1 for sure
The Intro Counter By THE UNDERTAKER is my favourite
Randy reversing Austin theory was cool
Never expect to see Nia on this list but I love the spot both Nia and Naomi did great and Nia since the previous run improved a lot
i liked keith lee's rko counter by just standing still
How about the best WWW Continuity feuds next video
Iyo Sky headflipping out of the rose plant at mania 40 clears a bunch of these. It's probably the only time the move has ever gotten an actual pop
RIP Mr Perfect
Randy seems like the master of counters
Randy Orton countering Seth Rollins Stomp into the RKO should've been on the list, but personally I think you could have a full separate list of counters Randy's done into the RKO 😅
Shelton always be my one of my favorite wrestler
I am surprised the AirBourne RKO and Stomp RKO not included!!!!
Orton vs Taker is #1
Not even an argument
I still remember that counter and the near fall
Letting Mustafa Ali and Ricochet go were horrible decisions.
They were exciting and creative.
Honestly, I think wwe would do well to create an additional championship for those that can do 'the flippy stuff'. You don't need much in the way of storytelling. the fact that he didnt include the stomp into an rko is crazy
Randy Orton countering Evan Bourne with an RKO in mid air should be top 3!
Naomi is flexible
Most of these involve Randy Orton, not a big surprise since dude is incredibly in tune with his body.
Randy Orton Powerslam to RVD was memorable
i feel like this dude doesn't know what "tremendous" means.
curb stomp into RKO Wrestlemania 31 should defo been on here
Randy Orton counters Seth Rollins Curb Stomp into a RKO and counters Evan Bourne moonsalt from the top rope into a RKO should've been on this list easily.
Randy + Seth + Mania RKO reversal = N1
Missing Bret vs. Perfect SS , leg drop countered into sharpshooter. Best counter ever.
Something dumb about being first
Ain’t that the truth.😂😂😂😂
Randy Orton is so smooth and fluid in the ring. Any time he counters, you just wonder what actually happened.
No mention of Randy Orton’s curb stomp counter into a RKO?
Miz countering the RKO into a skull-crushing finale??
….
No curb stomp into a pop up RKO!?
What about Randy countering a curb stomp at Wrestlemania 31??
Im shocked the RKO counter to Rollins Curb Stomp isnt number 1, much less not make the list! crazy!
Next video must be AEW about counters
Only If you can make a video on phenomenal counters of AJ styles
Seth Rollins Turning A Spear into a pedigree
American Alpha vs The Revival, Chad Gable reversed a Doomsday Device into a Belly to belly mid air
2:05 definitely not, no one even mentions it
Definitely 💯
Fun Fact: in 2075 Dominik Mysterio will have the longest wrestler career of all time.
What about Rollins countering Roman’s spear with a pedigree?
3:16 4:08 4:32 5:35 6:21 7:51
It's so weird you didn't mention randy counters seth finisher into rko in wm 31
Randy orton vs Seth Rollins at wreslemania should be here
