The New Industrial Policy Observatory (NIPO) database was created by the Global Trade Alert (GTA) team led by Prof. Dr. Simon Evenett from the University of St.Gallen. NIPO records government measures that have been announced or implemented globally since the beginning of 2023 and goes beyond the GTA database in analysing industrial policy interventions. In a paper authored by Simon Evenett and Fernando Martín from the GTA team, along with Adam Jakubik and Michele Ruta from the International Monetary Fund, the initial dataset for 2023 is examined.
Die Datenbank des New Industrial Policy Observatory (NIPO) wurde vom Team des Global Trade Alert (GTA) unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr. Simon Evenett von der Universität St.Gallen erstellt. NIPO erfasst staatliche Massnahmen, die weltweit seit Anfang 2023 angekündigt oder umgesetzt wurden, und geht über den Umfang der GTA-Datenbank hinaus. In einem von Simon Evenett und Fernando Martín vom GTA-Team gemeinsam mit Adam Jakubik und Michele Ruta vom Internationalen Währungsfonds verfassten Paper wird der erste Datensatz für das Jahr 2023 analysiert.
