that's a great video, thanks for the walkthrough through SID code and making it easy to understand. I too enjoyed Ben Eater's series and it's clear he was an inspiration here. The demo with the Moog and how it relates knocked it out of the park.

Thank you for that comment. I know the community here is small but it helps to know that people are getting something out of it. Ben Eater is indeed an influence, his style is so on-point, it's hard not to be influenced by him; but in my case, a Python instructor (David Blaikie) that I had at NYU years ago is to thank; he was one of the best teachers I've ever had the good fortune to be paired with (this will make more sense when you watch episode #5) He's got many RUclips videos, have a look if for no other reason than to see how he rolls.

Wow this was a long video, loved the Moog comparison!, my brother has been wanting a moog since forever and I keep telling him that he can use the c64 I have.. Yeah.. I just get a blank look as a response.. but I'm not lying!.. ha ha maybe the SID is not quite a Moog but still a capable synth!

I think the variety of having two SIDs, two PSGs, and for the F256K, a Yamaha OPL3 means that some really good music will be here soon. But yes, I do believe that Bob Yannes was heavily influenced by the Moog and also "yes", that video was a bit over the top.
The series has completely changed from how I initially envisioned it (15 minute long single take episodes) and now it's a full blown series which runs in parallel with a development effort; but it's all good. Hopefully people are finding some parts of it useful. Thank you for the comment.
