Playfriends, as it comes time for a venture of unprecedented scale, we're getting a little help. This is your spoiler free lore comment!
2:45 - Dream Powder! I love it when a plot point item comes back for another round!
4:00 - As part of the rewards for the quests in this section of the game, you obtain Dwarven gear! The helms you receive are recolors of the Tholl and Gogg helms. But you might be surprised that the helms include beards! Look, not everyone can grow a magnificent beard. In addition, the Warrior axe is a hammer similar to Glagg's hammer, and the Paladin sword is similar to Korutt's pickaxe.
6:10 - The Exarch can use the Crystal Tower as an extension of himself, empowering his greatest spells. But he's also an extension of the Tower, and his presence here in Kholusia is placing a strain on him. He cannot maintain the aether output he achieved last episode for much longer. But he's out here for a good reason. This exertion is worth it.
13:40 - This section of the quest requires you to go around to the assembled teams and distribute them their equipment. From a gameplay standpoint, it's not overly interesting; go here, talk to someone, go there, talk to someone. But storywise, interacting with those notable NPCs from each zone serves as a summary of all the lives you've changed. Each one has seen their world changed. A century of blighted light has ended. They may not know that you're the Warrior of Darkness, the one who has liberated their skies, but they're here to payback what they've been given. It reminds you that this isn't just an expansion, a quest to check off the list. You're saving a world, filled with people. You hadn't even met these people before starting Shadowbringers, but here they are, ready to help you achieve the impossible.
21:00 - The three sisters of Fanow were sprinkled in behind the other groups assembled at Top Rung.
24:05 - The Night's Blessed are willing to give up the very representations of their souls. Their fallen will rise up and power the Talos. They will fight to banish the light for others, now that The Rak'tika Greatwood has seen the Sunless Sea. All of Norvrandt, both the living and the dead, have turned out help you reach Mount Gulg. To slay the final Lightwarden.
31:17 - It's almost as if this shoebill... knows something.
36:45 - The Crystal Exarch's quest is so close to completion. A single Lightwarden stands between us and the salvation of Norvrandt. He can't help but think of all he's risked, all he's had to do. And someone he's missed on this long journey. He longs for this companion. But he knows that distraction may lead to critical errors. So he pushes it down. Until the work is done.
44:45 - Here we go, Zenos' spirit vs Zenos' body (with Ascian control). A clash of the ages! Which we will not get to see!
Today's Lore is a little sparse. We're clearly leading into Big Things, but with a sparse episode comes bonus lore! Today, we'll talk about the reputation grind for crafters in Shadowbringers: The Dwarves!
The Dwarf Tribe quests begin in Tomra, where you'll help a young inventor named Ronitt. He's shy and reluctant to interact with others, but with your help he'll come out of his shell and give everyone a mighty Lali-ho! In addition, there's a group of farmers in Wright who wish to bring back the prosperity of their town. After solving a crisis of leadership (and rampant PTSD), they finally get to reviving their local barley crop. This intersects with Ronitt's questline when Wright needs help with their crops, and Ronitt discovers Wright's crops were once used to brew ALE! An exchange of Ronitt's new automatons and Wright grain to make ALE is struck, and Ronitt's tinkering is no longer seen as a odd hobby in Tomra. After all, any work that secures the town more ALE is important work!
But Ronitt's got his eyes set on higher things than Ale (not to discount the Ale, he wants that too)! He travels to the Crystarium to seek you out, to propose a new workshop. After some discussion with the Crystalline Mean, he manages secure himself some space near the Ostall Imperative. Ronitt's big project: the legendary lost designs of the famous dwarf engineer Watts. Ronitt managed to break into a secret vault (which he totally didn't know was secret in the first place, he just wanted to know what was in the box) and found designs for an armored automaton vehicle! He calls it the Rolling Tankard. We'd call it a Tank. And he wants to build this lost masterpiece! But not long after setting up the new workshop of Watts's Anvil, he's accosted by a rival. And someone from the Gogg tribe, Ozogg! It seems like Ronitt's not the only one that holds claim to some of Watts's legendary stuff, Ozogg has Watts's tools! After some clashes, it's agreed that Ozogg can help with the Rolling Tankard project, but may have to give up Watts's tools if she doesn't pull her weight. And for a while, the development proceeds apace, with locals seeing some use for an armored vehicle with an aether cannon. After all, there are still beasties in Norvrandt and the Rolling Tankard can help pull wagons of goods! Ozogg even manages to set up a brewery near the workshop! That's defiantly increasing productivity! But the Tholl and Gogg village elders have caught wind of this cooperation, and they don't like it one bit. After some debate, a challenge is issued. Watts's Anvil must produce 5 production Rolling Tankards by the Dwarven festival of Beardtide (which is just around the corner). All 5 must pass their trials. Failure means all of the Tholls will go back to Tomra. Failure means Watts's tools go back to the Goggs. And neither Ronitt nor Ozogg will give up. With your help, the 5 Rolling Tankards are complete for the Beardtide festival. The chiefs are impressed. It turns out, cooperation between the Tholls and Goggs can yield amazing results. And then the secret comes out. The Goggs and Tholls were once the same tribe, Watts's Tribe. It was a dispute over Watts's automatons that lead to the schism, with the designs being locked away. That's how the Ozogg have Watts's tools. But now, with the secrets of the designs showing promise in modern dwarves, maybe it's time for a truce to be called between the tribes. Or at least finding common ground. Like what defines a good Ale.
Next time: A Talos like none have ever seen. We're coming for you, Vauthry.

I was happy that the game gave us a nonviolent solution to our mining quest. As much as the dwarf clans' animosity toward each other was being played for laughs, I was starting to wonder, "Are we seriously about to kill some of these guys, who are seemingly just minding their own business, simply because they're wearing the wrong kind of hat?"

It may have started as a generic evil empire but Garlemald and it's characters are quickly becoming some of my favorites!

11:46 Do Jeryk and Thaffe remind anyone else of Shulk and Ryne from Xenoblade Chronicles? Their appearances, Jeryk's enthusiasm, Thaffe being voiced by Adam Howden...
32:15 Those words sound familiar. Now, where have I heard them before...

24:30 - When I was playing this and the Heartstones came up, it choked me up. Knowing how much those meant to the Night's Blessed, yet here they were, willing to use them as part of our effort to finish the fight against the Light... it hit me pretty hard.

Always appreciated the check-ins with Garlemald. That centurion....he was never someone I was expecting, and I didn't feel that positively towards him at first, but it later turned out to be *very* good. And the conversation with the Exarch is always a highlight. Neat lore tidbits about him, and this is a rare occasion where we get to really know...anything about him. His inspiration, his aspirations...it's nice, having him open up a bit.

Man, that conversation with the Exarch just easily reminds me of why people ship their wols with him so often. Even for a self insert character, there’s still plenty of characterization in these conversations. I do adore it.

We really said everyone is here huh. Also I *really* want to know what's up with the Exarch now, I feel like he was definitely talking about the WoL just maybe not our Durmin "reflection"?? Wouldn't surprise me if those lines had a version where it said she if you're playing as the female WoL. Also the sAssian angle is delightful as always, did Emmet sell us out intentionally or not, how cooperative is he being, and will Zenos be reunited with his body. I can't wait for more.

For anyone who shares Dan’s confusion around 21:30 or so, the Viis showed up scattered around the crowd at the Top Rung, before Durmin handed out the pickaxes.
Oh, and Duergar can be pronounced either way you were using it! Since they’re often a type of dwarf I tend to lean towards “DWAIR-gar” myself

Exarch stop beating around the bush. If you want to ask that person ask them. It's better to tell people what you want. Also, maybe Durmin could help if you would name them.

0:37 I wonder if they're going to bring up any of the "fun" problems with mining sulphur, or if they'll ignore it. Sulphur mining sucks.
    2:24 He's a dwarf, and he's going to dig a hole.
7:10 These insults must only make sense to dwarves. Same for the boasts.
7:48 I'm of camp #3. They might start swinging any second now.
8:27 Of course you see red, look at their hats.
15:20 I don't think he wants one. Come to think of it... I'd probably only attempt the dry ones.
18:04 Ma'am, your dress is nice and all, but not suited to mining.
27:43 For some reason, #3 keeps being the option I'd be hitting in these prompts.
31:45 Huh, from this angle, the Bright Cliff reminds me of the Cliffs of Dover.
    32:22 I believe you 2%.
    33:09 Finally, explanations.
36:27 This reads like he's talking about the WoL/D. This concerns me.

I wish there was an option that said, "Hey, if you're going to talk about me, when talking to me, and you have a sincere request, how about you just ask me? What are you afraid of?"

I can't tell if this clack-clack-clack I'm hearing is just what talos sound like, or whether it's the plot starting its ascent up the rollercoaster hill
surely there's only one or two big twists left in this story
