Thank you for this. I have struggled with getting on my heel side edge like my toe side and this helped explain, it's an issue and an Asym can help address.

Works up to a certain speed, after which you need to take more care on heelside, riding the edge and just managing the grip.
Thats why asymmetrical offset is used on racing boards.
@@maness2112 I didn’t know that, probably makes sense. Most of the popular boards available with asymmetrical side are radial sidecut, so you need to be familiar with the boards limits.
Can you ride an asym twin only in duck stance or would this concept work with other angles?
You can do anything you want.
Actually initially this was to compensate for asymmetrical stance so heelside sidecut was shifted to the tail (as were actual heels)
Nidecker Tracer still does this the right way.
I ride an asym board, and can feel the difference on the backside turns. But if the tech is that useful, why isn't it used in more boards? Are there any drawbacks riding asym?
Flex can be an issue.
Trying to do these on directional boards is a massive pain in the fanny.
Don’t know why all boards aren’t asymmetrical it only makes sense . U can carve way better and makes switch easier

How well could an asym board be as a dedicated park board?
Gnu Finest, Capita Asymulator, etc etc.
We do a top 5 asym board list every year.
The YES Greats he is showing is really a big park board, that works well everywhere else.
Whatever profile, flex etc you like in the park, an asym version is only going to make it work better.

Doesn't really do shit till you hit the edge into firm snow.

There must be someone out there that has set one of these up the wrong way around. I know guys(who should know better) that have struggled riding with their stance set forward instead of back for half a day before they realised. And a couple of guys who have set up their skateboard trucks the wrong way. 😆😆😆
The idiots at The Good Ride did just that. Then in the middle of the review they were filming realized it and mentioned it, but kept the review going and didn’t reshoot it. Real professionals over there.
I own an asym greats and tested a later model at a board test, guy before me had the same binding set up as me so i just grabbed it and went.
Halfway down the hill im thinking, man they really screwed this board with the redesign, until I looked down!
The Greats literally says "YES this is the heel side idiot" on the side wall.
@@AngrySnowboarderJames and the crew over at The Goodride now in 2023 have become way more professional with their on the table reviews and obviously more experience riding and using a huge variety of gear. If I had only one choice to rely on as a review it would be yours hands down. Never seen you ride but I am positive you lay some big trenches 🤙
@@mackakiwinz4353 I wouldn't call them more professional, they're realizing that RUclips viewers scrutinize far more than any of their Vimeo people did. They're also hurting to the point they're crying that they might go out of business.
