  • Tri-X is one of my favorite B&W films, which I have used for about 20 years. Its a well known film from Kodak and was popular amongst many B&W shooters, especially photo journalists. It has a gritty filmic look with deep contrast. Went back to my files over the years and decided to show here many shots which I liked on this film. Take a look!
Music used in the video are: "Lotus Pond" by Aakash Ghandi, "MydNyte" by Noir Et Blanc Vie, "Sharp Edges" by Half.Cool, and "We Wish You A Merry Christmas - Instrumental Jazz" E's Jammy Jams.

Thanks for this! Tri-X was my go to film since the 70s. Now I’ve (finally) embraced digital I use the Tri-X preset in Nik Silver Efex 2…✌️🎄🇦🇺

I use the film simulations on my Fuji digital myself. But I find it's still a lot of fun to shoot a roll now and then. Thank you for your comments.

I've got several 120 rolls in the freezer. I really should take another look at it. Used it in 4x5 back in the 90's, but I didn't care much for its shadow rendering, compared to HP5-PLUS.

Try it again. It doesn't keep frozen very well, so use it soon. One thing where you and I differ is you like lightened shadows, where is I like deep blacks in the shadows.

Thanks for the warning. Actually, I like dark shadows but with good tonal separation. HP5 gives me that.@@braxus351W
