Rather be underrated than overrated
Gotta prove them wrong this season
26th of 32 just pissed me off. We just gotta ignore this one. Jaguars damn sure in the top 8
Nah, I prefer to be the under dog.
I swear they did this stuff on purpose. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Doug called them and asked them to do it. It gets the players fired up. At some point during the season there's going to be a roll of various disrespectful commentary played for the team. They are going to internalize that and take it to the field. In the NFL season is a total crap shoot. You have little to no idea how things are going to play out. Success or failure often depends upon staying healthy. These power rankings are meaningless. Nobody's even finalized a roster yet. No one's seen the rookies in pads. No one has gotten in legal trouble yet. No one has gotten injured during preseason or workouts. How could you possibly know how to rank the teams? This is nothing more than motivation footage for the team later on.
This is good, the Jags always implode when we have expectations
Do you remember the last eight weeks of the season?
Chris Berman would often call the Jaguars the "Yeah Buts". Feels like that's been the overall tone of the national media with the Jags more often than not. There's 31 NFL teams plus the Jacksonville Jagwires, who should just be happy to exist. Feels like it bothers them to talk about the Jags and they can't wait to change the subject.
Sidenote: Every year--every single season--the media does retroactive re-drafts, which is basically saying "we were wrong a lot" in article form. What a hustle, you get to be wrong often and out loud, and still have a job.
Add fuel to this team’s fire. I love it.
Love the alternant universe comment! Go Jordan!
Interception
That was the biggest issue
The jaguars players and coaching staff should use this as motivation to go into next season and prove them wrong and kick some ass.
26th is straight bs, but I want them to underrate us. I think we win the South and at least get to the divisional round again. I don't know if we can beat the big guys yet.
I heard him on Hacker...yeah he's hanging on the 2nd half slide...says he wont be a believer until we show we can reverse that on the field...but I agree it's ridiculous.
Yall think we're set at interior oline? That's the last part I'm still kinda worried about
id have us around 12-16. BUT after the collapse last year i want to see them ranked low until they come out and prove theyre a top team. theres only one way to go and its up let them disrespect/overlook us
Top 10 at the very least when healthy. Its not an excuse, but we were banged up last season.
I saw the jags at 14th in NFL power rankings post draft.
Yeah just seen it..more Respectable ranking. But I think Jags will be in the top 10 this season👌
@@rokit430 absolutely
We just gotta make them eat those words. Everyone starts 0-0. Only ranking that matters is at the end of season.
They effectively think the Jaguars are the worst team in the AFC South.
The way analysts rate drafts its like they expect GMs to use their player analysis instead of doing thousands of hours of their own research.
What did they have the Eagles at they lost more down the stretch then we did and lost a few key players? It’s almost like some of these guys hate seeing the Jaguars get any publicity
I truly believe that we are going just fine this year I really believe that they put the right guys in the right place Kirk engram going to go off and gabe is going to open so much field up for everyone I’m excited about I see us winning 11 games
To your point about the consensus board, this is one of those situations where PFF is helpful. They are much higher on Jones and Prince than consensus. But I'd say they are probably lower on Maason Smith. ESPN had Smith with a 2nd round grade - I know Kiper said 3rd, but their Insider Draft team had him rated 84, which is basically right in line with where Jags drafted him.
I think we definitely improved our wide receiver corps over last year. I was a big Calvin Ridley fan, but let's face it, he had a lot of drops and didn't look at all like he used to. I wouldn't have paid him twenty three million and I believe Brian Thomas Jr is bigger, faster, stronger, and better than Calvin Ridley was. I am not a fan of cutting Zay Jones. I liked him, but the NFL is a business. Go Jaguars! Twenty-six is simply ignorant or spiteful. It has no reality to it!
@@davidreeves007 Agreed. The way I look at Ridley is multifaceted. He was inconsistent, but he was basically 2 years out of football, and he brought a lot of route running juice and some high end play to this team. 1:1 I would prefer him over a rookie, even a promising one, and Davis. However, it's also true that he's only had one dominant year in the NFL, his hands were inconsistent, and the "doing the wrong thing" moments were tough. So I also would not pay what the Titans paid, and for that same money, I will take Davis and Armstead over Ridley every time. And I am also with you on preferring Davis and Thomas Jr over just Ridley.
We’ve given them zero reason to believe in us. I get it, and I hope that we prove them all wrong
Yeaaa I agree with the rankings we literally didn’t get At all our corners are STILL weak and STILL are worst position the only thing we did is add a 5th target I still think we should’ve drafted a cornerback like terrion….would’ve been a way better and more of a impact player
Did you even watch the Jags last year? They had no vertical passing game. Between Gabe and Btj, they have 2 guys that can clear space underneath for Engram and Kirk. The addition of Morse, a healthy Cleveland, a non suspended Cam and 2nd year growth from Harrison bodes well for a vastly improved line to buy time for those deep routes and improve league worse short yardage running game.
Plus the new DC wants press corners, most all of the top guys in this years draft were zone guys. Should they have reached and tried to jam that square peg in a round hole. The 2nd half of season, the def line was manhandled. Foley and Dham struggled mightily. I applaud the picks of the LSU big guys. Let Baalke cook!
Let's see how the QB performs
The wheels didn’t fall off from injuries, the wheels fell off due to our offense not having any chemistry. Our defense was the reason we were 8-3. Our offense played less than average but showed glimpses of explosiveness the whole season. The one game the jaguars offense looked smooth was against the Panthers when Cj Beathard started. I’ve been telling everybody since I first saw CJ play for us, he throws a more catchable ball than Trevor.
CJ didt play vs Bills, he played against the nfl worst record Carolina Panthers. Check your facts.
@@robertmoore147 wow, I made a mistake and typed the wrong team, don't tell your boyfriend on me.
I also think they base grades off of their own personal mock drafts and instead of seeing how the new additions can contribute because they didn’t do their homework correctly and got pie on their faces 😂
I still think we need a veteran number 1 reciver
Yet more bulletin board material
I think around 20 would be accurate.
I dont know if this hurts more or br ranking us 20
we will see what he has to say when Brian Thomas is catching bombs over corners for touchdowns
Like Trevor said Games don’t get played on paper maybe the Jags beat his team or maybe he was a chargers or Titans fan😂
Love the Jags, fan of the show, and not optimistic about the upcoming season. Free agency acquisitions and draft class are behind the Texans and Colts.
Somebody's stomach will surely ache eating those stats for lunch! DTWD......
Jags do play a ton better when are under Dawgs. Idk why but cardiac cats!!
Calvin Ridley wasn't worth 90 million. He did drop that pass that made the Jaguars miss the playoffs. Maybe last season jags missing the playoffs needed to happen. Cuz this maybe their best WR group ever.
Going to be hard to beat that Smith, McCardell duo. Kirk and Thomas JR could be great too.
I so hope we can refer back to this topic next January with clown emojis about this jerk go jags!!!
I think people over value Calvin Ridley.
Same reason they are ranked so low is the same reason they were ranked so high last year. Depends on how you finish the season. They don’t even care about offseason and drafts.
As usual - alot will depend on Trevor. IF he becomes a legit Superstar...which he has potential to be...then we will be tough to beat. Lots of weapons...What I would LOVE to see is Trevor steps up BIG...Josh Allen does it AGAIN...and Travon BUSTS OUT and becomes Dominant player ...an all around playmaker who can sack, stop run, and cause turnovers. We get all that and I would have to say we will be a PROBLEM for other teams.
Trevor has proven to anyone who understands ball that he can do it.
He needs an O-line and weapons.
Trevor is not and has not been the problem at any point. With the improvements to the o-line you might actually see Trevor having enough time for a play to develop. He had to run for his life nearly every play. When he did manage to get the ball off, running at full speed, More often than not throwing across his body and still hitting the receiver, the Jokers would drop it! Enough is enough with the silliness! Trevor nearly got Andrew lucked. I was relieved when they lost to the Titans because I realized he wouldn't survive that game because the o-line was that bad. Now, there's an o-line that can actually do something, The runners will actually have holes to run through, The jaguars won't be as one-dimensional and easy to set up against and with the new challenge they can now actually go deep for a change instead of constantly doing slants and short stuff. They will be far more difficult to defend against now. Same quarterback, but now he has what he needs to win.
@@jeremyporter2547 Line STUNK last year no doubt....but I dont give Trevor a free pass. He MUST get better. Dude leads league in turnovers over last 3 years! NOT GOOD...and Im not going with the turnovers are the Line's fault or WR fault...some are but ALOT on Trevor. My point is there is a HUGE difference when you get "OK - Decent" qb play vs ELITE...you become a whole different team...we can get there.
@@tonydangelo778 Dude has had weapons for 2 years...and just got MORE. O-line stinks yes but Trevor needs to do better. He aint no Joe Burrow.
This is a good thing. This will put a chip on their shoulder.
We say this every year man 🤦🏿♂️
It's cause Trevor is still on the Team
We are a top 10 team healthy.
It's just bating reactions. It's also following an easy narrative as well. Funny how last year the Eagles draft oops all bulldogs and everyone cheered though.
This comment reminds me of when the Steelers had Najee Harris taking snaps at receiver in training camp when he was a rookie. The Steekers were being creative. When the Jags did it with Etienne at rookie minicap, it was "what are those idiots doing?"
Is Kendal a Texans fan?? 😂
I donr think we 26th. But ti say we are much better. Made great strides. No we did not. We made slight adjustments/implements.
Leave your weekends free in January our Jags will be playing in the playoffs. Jags fans will get the last laugh.
about right, maybe 7-10 this year…i cant say with confidence that we are better than colts and titans…houston will win division again
… they have to be trolling.
It was literally one of the worst collapses in the history of NFL. 26 sounds about right.
You’re a casual with a narrow scope. look at the whole picture
Nobody respects that MID QB Trevor Lawrence
whatever. who cares what fools think
Don’t read the athletic anyway. There biased and a bunch of clowns 🤡
It sounds about right, Trevor Lawrence is so overrated. He is not as good as you all think he is.
