I use warp stabilize a lot when shooting handheld with my big camera. I find it works better if the frame is wide and there are no front ground distractions that ruin stabilize. My problem with using warp stabilize is that I find it useless when I try to apply it on shots taken either with one of my gimbals or with my DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I mean that already stabilised footage (usually) gets zero improvement with warp or ends giving a worse result, even if I go down to 1%. Any suggestions? I also find that even night shots taken with my Sony using the Cine-4 profile in low light, end up with jitter after using warp. I mean that the night shot has zero jitter and warp adds it, trying to stabilize. I get the same result using warp at handheld shots, even still ones as if I was slowly and carefully walking at night using my Samsung or iPhone and they introduce jitter.

So, how do I deal with Premiere constantly crashing when I apply it? Finally just jump to Resolve I suppose?

Hey, really sorry that warp stabilizer is causing a crash! The GPU in your computer handles this effect, so we usually check the GPU drivers first. We'd be happy to support you if you'd like! I seem to get a lot of wavy motion in my clips when I use WS. I'm not sure what the issue is.

When do you typically implement Warp Stabilizer, at the start of the editing process...at the end, or?

You'll definitely want to apply when you load your clip to your timeline. Mainly to make sure the effect will truly work for your clip and not over crop, give you an insane jello/wonky look. Otherwise, you will need to take that clip/video to AE and apply tracking and warp stabilizer there.

I usually apply it once I drop the clip into the timeline to make sure the result is good and I can keep the clip in the final edit!

I was expecting to get more knowledge than just basics. Maybe some actual pro-tips, better understanding of how the effect works with different options and which solutions could give a better result. Meh...

Nope, you get to view the same "unstable" warp stabilizer drag n drop method... Gotta love that jello it applies to your clip after you wait for it to render each adjustment you apply 😂

wrong channel then, Adobe never does anything "in deep" or advanced. Even the examples they use here - are barely needing a fix so WStabiliser will work well - shame they haven't shown what it actually does 50% of the time - warping and this strange almost moiré like effect. It's a good tool but not perfect, there are better stabilisers out there
