I love how writers show Mina's character development here. When she saw her friend dying, she didn't cried or get sad like a typical anime girl does. No, she's the captain of the 3rd division and must have been through such situations where she lost her comrade in a war before many times. She handled the situation in a more mature way. From being a little crybaby to a matured and badass captain, Mina's character development is amazing. No wonder why they call her an inspiration
The biggest reason why she didn't show any sort of emotion is because he was still in a transformed state despite getting knocked out and another major reason is her absolute trust in him(+ Even if she is mature losing the closest friend is different from losing a Comrade tbh but I got your point)

It’s crazy to think back to Mina being terrified of even shooting a gun for the first time cause she heard her comrades dying, to now she didn’t even flinch in the face of this Meireki Daikaiju when it literally had her life in its’ sights. Mina character development is absolutely well written. Her flashback makes moments like this even more impactful as well.

If the manga continues after the Meireki Daikaiju fight, I hope that the fallout of Narumi’s actions in this chapter have some real weight to them. He’s definitely gonna have fucked up eyes after this and might not be in fighting shape for a WHILE. I’d also like to see Kikoru’s reaction to this because they argue a lot but she definitely cares about him and would be upset that he nearly died trying to take out a Kaiju, just like her dad did. Basically if Kn8 doesn’t wrap up after this fight I want the series to focus more on the characters emotions with more internal and interpersonal conflict, especially if it goes down the route of Izumotech being as sketchy as it seems
You know I hadn’t considered it until your message… but I honestly think you predicted the next arc. Whether that’s short or long. But we need to see the fallout of EVERYTHING post war. Public’s reaction to KN8, JDF reaction to Kafka being a permanent Kaiju, Narumi’s ramifications, can they put KN10’s tail back on the suit😭, Kikoru’s ramifications from her fight with KN15, and emotionally how the main cast takes all this major blows. I’m sure we’ll quickly learn who the next “big bad” is. But I’m actually more curious how all the war fallout will be handled.
Fall out from this war is gonna be insane. Everyone's gonna be crippled. Kafka's gonna be stuck as a Kaiju. Like even if they win they're still gonna suffer. Also Kafka bathroom breaks gonna be fucking weird. He pees from his nipples remember?🤣🤣🤣🤣

Tbh I love the chapter because Narumi being reflection of Isao is just a reminder of how far he had come all the way from a Selfish Kid who seeks attention to a Selfless Leader, Mina's Way of Handling Situation was much more mature and Logical as well, Getting Glimpse on Hoshina was also fun I only have one issue with the chapter(more like me being Selfish here) is that Kafka didn't got any sort of boost from his ultimate sacrifice nor did his Kaiju design change in the slightest even after completely merging with No 8, Because of that it looks a bit Lackluster to me (But hey that's just my selfish wish not like Chapter was bad infact it was amazing)
I don’t think it’s a selfish want. I think it’s more than logical to think there would be some change in KN8’s appearance. I really think we’ll see the full extent of Kafka’s changes next chapter. The samurai kept saying they needed a deeper bond to become stronger. Hell KN9 even told Kafka he was surprised that Kafka is that strong with no deep connection with KN8. So this next chapter should really highlight what new things KN8 can do now because of this bond. 120 will be one of the best chapters in this series!!
@@DoffyDaze For real Because Kafka literally Sacrificed his Future as a Human as well as betrayed his own ideal(he hated Kaiju and ended up completely becoming one thanks to his heart transformation) thats why it was dubbed as Ultimate Sacrifice if it ended up being underwhelming I will be so disappointed but I will Trust the Author like I did so Far

Hopefully next chapter opens up with short flashback to when Kafka woke up, Mina saw him, and Kafka runs over to save Narumi. Even if not, with Narumi and Hoshina out of commission your dream will come true. It’ll be Mina and Kafka finishing off this fight together😈🔥

@ like with that punch 🤛 notice how usually the kaiju gets damaged or explodes etc when punched I know this one is on a whole different level strength wise but that final panel made me think there’s a lot of force and almost looks like vibration possibly like internal damage just a hypothesis but I’m thinking we’re gonna get something new This thing is like the end of the world just arrived lol they gonna need a big ass gun like Mina for sure
YES! I without a doubt thought that he would have a change of appearance in some way, shape, or form. I honestly think it surprised me more that he DIDN’T have a change. But my guess is that Matsumoto is saving any changes for a full chapter. I’m so excited to see what Kafka will be able to do in chapter 120. I’m convinced it will be a top 5 chapter of the whole series.
@@DoffyDaze I think Matsumoto is going to keep him as is. See, before I was thinking that Lil' Guy was inherently a kaiju of some sort, so I expected bonding with Lil' Guy to make Kafka more kaiju. However, Lil' Guy is actually the result of the will of *humans*, of men just like Kafka. So bonding with him will if anything, center Kafka in his humanity. He will be able to do more with the body, but I don't think the base form is going to get more 'beasty'. Not in retorspect.
You know I’m honestly surprised that Reno hasn’t pulled up yet. The Daikaiju that he was fighting should’ve all ceased to keep fighting once KN9 was defeated. Remember even Narumi said that if they beat KN9 then the mindless glowing white Daikaiju should also cease attacking. So technically Reno should be on the way to this fight if nothing is happening by him🤔

That’s a good question. I couldn’t imagine Hoshina leaving Mina to join the first. At the same time we NEED the strongest or smartest person to be the captain of the first. Hoshina is for sure the smartest character and second strongest after Narumi. So he would fit the mold no doubt 🤔👀
