Hi guys... Did a good job... Looks like it might be easier to change the brakes on a big truck than it is that little smart...lol... They make a conversion kit For disc brakes for the rear... I may have done that... But of course as lazy as I am... I would probably just take it to someone and let them do the work...lol... Thanks for the video stay safe...J&A 2ofus
Dave, I have learned so much from you and I would not have a problem fixing things! But sadly my strength just isn’t there anymore, which prevents me!🤦🏻♀️But still love these videos! ♥️♥️
@@WattsOnWheels I can’t tell u the nmbr of RUclips videos that have helped me fix many, many things! 👍🏻 Bc B4 them I’d just take pics of each part, thn work it backwards to put it together. My biggest drawback w/that was putting it back tgthr right away, otherwise I forgot! 🤦🏻♀️
and don't forget... you get to add a few for all the questions on the beer bill! Funny, I did my wife's brakes on her car, she told me to take it for the first drive by myself... now.. where's the trust in that!! 🤣
The Smart Car is made by Mercedes Benz overseas. Ours is gas powered and they don't import them anymore. I think they still may import the electric ones. You can usually find them for sale used on-line. We found ours on the Facebook Marketplace and it was at a dealer. It was 4 years old when we got it with 32000 miles and paid less than $6000. They are not that easy to find.
Heck. You got 24 beers for the fronts. And they were disc brakes. Geez. With that number already done, you should get at least 1.5 times that total for each of the rears for a total of 72 beers. No questions. And I'm even including the fact that you had shade.
Don’t know why in this day and age any one would think using old style drum brakes is a good idea. If not for the ease of the maintenance departments to replace. Hell, the new mechanics for the most part don’t know how to change those brakes. I have noticed more Mercedes dealers are not working on the SMART cars anymore. I have a fan/accessory belt that’s about to break. Can’t find anybody to replace it at least in my area. The closest Mercedes dealership that will do It is over 2hours way. Our 2016 SMART car only has 25,000 miles on it and for the belt to break there must be an issue with a tensioner as well.
I know. We had a hard time finding anyone near by to work on Zippy. Finally had a foreign car guy put new plugs and such on him. Expensive too! That's why I try to do all I can myself. 25,000 miles and a belt already...that sucks.
I’m thinking that there’s probably a bad tensioner or some pulley out of alignment for it to go that early so changing out the belt only may be a moot point without looking into it further @@WattsOnWheels
@@darrells1806 what model number is your Smart? There's a guy called Auto Knight on RUclips who has a video covering 450s and 451s on virtually every maintenance aspect. Worth subscribing.

Hi guys. I'm just glad it's done. And I know who to blame if something goes wrong.

No Blood!

Pay the man!
LOL. No bruises either. Still drinking.
Good job 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
I can't imagine how many F bombs had to be edited out! Great work Dave! 🍻
Karen's really good at editing. LOL

LOL. Might want to check and see if she has any life insurance policies on you.
Dave 30 😉. Good job🤩
At least 30. Thanks for watching.
What kind of car is zippy? We are thinking that we may get a smart car. But how to charge it

i have done that so many times . and what gloves are those
Those are just nitrile gloves. Glad it won't have to be done again for a long time.
Where is the brake cleaner?
It was off camera, but I used it to clean the drums. You know I would. :)
Was that a crack in your tie rod?
I’ll email pic to show you what I saw
Good eye, Karen noticed that as well, so I checked it out and it is actually a paint line. Sure looks like a crack.
Good. But that would be another video of it was🤣 You could show everyone how to align the wheels. @@WattsOnWheels
You did not have a cat this time Dave. Kind regards Gavin
That's right. No extra bear for cats.

LOL. I like the way you think. Keep in mind my glove ripped too...so maybe one more.
@@WattsOnWheels ; well, you really should have dessert after.
OK a maybe 10 as the glove blow out the thumb glove 🤷🏼
Having to work with faulty equipment (glove) requires additional beers.
