Thank you for the small correction in text from intrusive to impulsive!❤ It means a lot for someone like me who suffers from OCD and often gets met with very bad reactions because of the misuse/misunderstanding of the two words. Many people don't know the difference between the two words or they get them mixed up, which is understandable since they are quite similar-sounding words, but the difference is important! So if someone in the comments doesn't know: The emotional or behavioural response to the thoughts varies if it is an intrusive or impulsive thought. Impulsive thoughts often lead to spontaneous actions, say cutting your bangs, and these thoughts are typically not resisted as they don't typically appear frightening to the individual. They may bring satisfaction or other positive emotions in the moment to the individual if they act upon these thoughts. I have personally found that impulsive thoughts can be about things that I have been "secretly" thinking about doing for a while and then just "suddenly" gone ahead and done. Intrusive thoughts however are not satisfactory, they are instead very, very, very frightening to the individual. They are unwanted thoughts that create a great deal of anxiety and often shame for the person. These thoughts just appear even though you don't want them and they go against your beliefs and desires and you can feel like a bad person for not having control over your mind. These thoughts are therefore rejected by the person who tries their very best to make these thoughts NOT become true. OCD as a disorder can be recognized by its ego-dystonic nature. To put it simply; impulsive thoughts are thoughts you WANT to act on while intrusive thoughts are thoughts you NEVER WANT to act on.

Thank you for the link to the hood! This year's Christmas projects were all adorable! The mental image of your girls waddling about the house in their mermaid tails is too precious for words! 🧜♀️🧜♀️
I love that cowl! I mashed some patterns together to create a hooded scarf for myself this year. I barely managed to finish my "one" Christmas sewing project - 8 pairs of pj pants - just to learn the pattern is much too short in the rise! 😭 I'll be altering this year's pants and making something different next year. Live & learn!
@ luckily, I have MORE than enough fabric to make a "yoke" for each pair of pants, so they won't be a loss. Despite that disappointment, the holiday was an amazing success! It was wonderful to have all of the "kids" together and it passed too quickly. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have an exciting & blessed new year!
