Thanks Reid, thanks Daniel. I think Deneb/Vega-Lite is going to be huge ... can't wait for the 1.0/AppSource release. Is the example PBIX and/or example Deneb/Vega-Lite code available?

It’ll be available to download from the Blog Files page later today 🙂

Fantastic! would this visual be able to turned into small multiples also by tweaking the encoding?

Yup - we're not using the facet channels in this design, so they could be added. The only thing to bear in mind is that facets are not responsive to size changes like using single view specifications and need to be explicitly sized.

Great tutorial, one question I have is that with the visual I can't seem to get the resolve scale for my quantitative axis to be independent. Not sure why. Any ideas?

Thank-you! Without seeing your specification, it will be hard to understand where things are going wrong. For the specification in this video, you can add a "resolve": { "scale": { "y": "independent" } } at the top-level, but it will affect all y-encoding channels for all layers (so, that includes the marks for showing deltas against the bars), and it won't make sense.
You will likely need to look at using facets to group your charts by a specific channel and then set the encoding in those to independent, so that the internal scales or axes for each group make sense to Vega-Lite's resolver. Unfortunately, Reid's channel auto-removes comments with links in them so I can't post anything direct, but in each view composition type in the Vega-Lite documentation, they show examples of how resolve affects the scales inside them. If you navigate to the appropriate page, e.g., View Composition > Facet > Resolve.
If you need specific help, then I can be engaged for consultation, or you can get more targeted community support by posting in one of the locations recommended on Deneb's support page, such as Stack Overflow or the Power BI Community forums (again, can't link here but if you follow the link to Deneb's website in the video description you can navigate to the support page that way).
