They actually have a Spanish language coach on set and he said that Julie is the best among the cast. He said that she's like a machine 'coz she learns so fast.😁
The recent episodes, exactly from Ep 18 to EP 23, which just aired tonight brings a lot of tears! The episodes that aired last week and today's week is a tear jerker, the start of the depressing arc.
Tho my filipino friend haven’t told me this, I understand due to the fact that she’s considered “weird” back in her country home she mentioned, she added she personally doesn’t gets what’s considered normal anymore, I’m glad to hear from her fellow locals. She talks about the guys she dated casually, which maybe it’s not considered casual in the Philippine culture. I think I can help her to understand this one, looking from different sides of the situation. Thank you Ching Ching.
Lol Almost My Friends sleeping together with the opposite gender but not together in bed yeah pilipino really do sleep together with opposite gender as long as you know him or she like she or he is your friend or classmate but if its a stranger definitely not
@@princeharith566 Yeah but those are close friends, but in this context they're practically strangers, at the same time, you prolly sleep with like 2-3 friends in one room, not just the two of you alone. And well if you did, it would still be very weird and would definitely raise suspicions.
We call Padre Salvi as “itlog na puyat” which translates “sleep deprived egg” 🤣🤣🤣 because he looks like an egg and he has this big dark circle around his eyes😅😅😅
There's something about the place where Ibarra's father was buried.. Maybe that is why Kap Tiyago said that he needs to ask it from their eldery helper..
Padre Salvi's haircut is actually called Tonsure. It was practiced by the monks and priests in medieval Europe as a sign of religious devotion and humility, until this practice was abandoned by the papal order in 1972. St. Francis of Assisi was one of the friars in history who had this haircut. :)
I thought the same Sol, the guy who plays Padré Salvi is very handsome! The hair just threw me off. And I laugh everytime Luna is concerned about Klay taking a bath 😂 I think the firefly is supposed to represent danger. There’s a story that Jose Rizal’s mother told him as a child of a firefly who was curious about the fire of a lamp. It kept going closer and closer until it died in the fire. She told Jose this story to get him out of trouble. Jose Rizal was the firefly that ended up in the fire years later with his novels, and eventually, was executed. I could be wrong about the firefly in the show representing danger, but linking it with the story his mother told is just my theory.
@@jeongin006 ahhh ok thanks for the info. I'm also learning more about PH history (since I was raised abroad) and I might have forgot that it was not a firefly
to answer your question, up until now here in Philippines if a woman stays at a man's house it will be an issue especially a woman who's a strager. even not a stranger will raise high suspicion even a scandalous thing especially when one of them or even both is already taken or in a relationship haha
29:08-29:43 Grabe! Ate Luna held that long expression for almost 35 seconds. You really felt the frustration of their passing the message.🤣 Gonna watch more of these reactions❤️
From what I read, the cane (and also the hat) is important back in the days to distinguish the upper class from the lower class. If you wear a cane and the hat then you belong to the upper echelon class.
Actually... Some Filipinos are actually pretty considerate, they would offer to sleep on the floor just so they won't become much of a bother. IT IS BOLD, but if you're confident that a guy won't do any harm to you, you would do the same. Especially Klay is asking the ever so loyal Boyfriend of Maria Clara.
Keep watching, I did stop watching the succeeding episodes the moment I found your channel to watch with you. Waiting for the next episodes, ate Sol and Luna.
The panuelo is used to cover the breast of women in the past. Wearing it is a must. The only difference is the type of cloth the panuelos are made of. Rich women wear panuelos made of fine silk or cloth while the poor ones wear the opposite.
Yeah. I think Juancho (Padre Salvi's actor) actually explained it on an interview. He said that it's actually something the church do to the new priests back in the day.
Bathing more than once a week was not commonly done in the 19th and early 20th century Europe, as was more common among East Asians. Rizal would have learned in his travels that Europeans smelled and needed their perfumes and colognes as many only took a bath rarely. Ladies washed themselves out of a water pan daily instead of a bath
I stopped watching Maria Clara at Ibarra after Week 2 because I want to watch them with you. Please continue reacting and watching. We wanna watch it with you!
Bulacan does exist in the story. It is one of the Philippines' sun raise on the flag. 3 stars were the 3 largest islands here, the 8 sun raise were the 8 provinces who were part of the revolution. As far as I remember.. oh my.. I am such a failure. I hope Mr. Torres won't get me put inside a book. Lol

Yes, it’s still not normal to be with the opposite gender in one room here in the Philippines.

Don Tiago didn't want to be the one to say the bad things that happened to Ibarra's father. I think he's playing safe.
Julie anne san jose sings that 👉Ave maria👈 trending on twitter in 2nd weekend

17:15 the edit of juancho triviño with careless whisper in the back ground while dressed as _padre_ salvi made me laugh so hard lmaooo

The actor playing the role of Padre Santi is Juancho Trivino, one of the most handsome actors in the Philippines in my opinion.

Crisostomo Ibarra is Jose Rizal and Maria Clara is his ex-girlfriend Leonor Rivera.

Because the panuelo was expensive back then. Only the principalia and the middle class can afford that expensive lace

The priest with the bald top is a priest from the Franciscan order. That particular priestly order requires the top of the head to be shaven.
Yeah. I think Juancho (Padre Salvi's actor) actually explained it on an interview. He said that it's actually something the church do to the new priests back in the day.
parang Halo effect?
@@ushijimawakatoshi1429 Yeah, I learned about it a long time ago from an article that I've read.
The bald top is intended to actually make them look less attractive... From the movie ‘Brother Sun Sister Moon’ the story of St Francis of Assisi
Soy Filipino pero no habla español. I watched not the video but thru your comments then I understand this teleserie hehehe. Gracias señoritas!
Yes Julie sing it live 😊

About the cane, Jose Rizal always has it so maybe crisostomo always have it w/ him since his character is based on rizal

I believe that Bulacan exists during that time..
Yes. It was established during the Spanish era.
The constitution was even drafted here

I thought he was San Antonio de Padua because of the look of Padre Salvi. Anyway, Juancho Triviño played the role as Padre Salvi
Ang ganda nyong dalawa 😁
Dios mío Marimar
I ship Sol and Luna with Padre Salvi.
🤣🤣🤣
Bakit?
🤣🤣🤣 because they call him handsome? When the picture is cropped?🤣🤣
and don't forget Mon Confiado
es nombre el hombre padre salvi es JUANCHO TRIVIÑO
yes she is really singing.. Julie ann San Jose is one of very good singer in PH
In a modern Philippines it's a strange that a woman will sleep over to mens room without relationship. UNLESS she is mujer libre.
This tv series is somewhat patterned to Outlander (Netflix)
2:22 well, barbie has a crush on dennis
The other name of Padre salvi is 👉 panotche or el bao 😂
If that handsome like him no problem joke😂
4:54 i concur
17:08 hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Well, Juancho Travino or Padre Salvi is a matinee idol in the Philippines
7:13 the A'TIN in you is showing hahaha
Keep getting distracted by the hair hahahaha
Or the no hair part haha
Please react to Jose Rizal Movie starring Cesar Montano. It is the best Filipino movie in my opinion.
I'm from Philippines but i didn't know about pan de regla. 😂
We learned about it in this video ruclips.net/video/i9KmIeVXyGc/видео.html
Pan de regla is Kalihim bread here in Manila.
Friars those times traditionally needs to bald at the center of their head
If muslims have hijab, filipinas have pañuelo, interesting.....
