Please please please let's separate Angela from Halle Berry! This is a Halle Berry FAN PAGE, she's one of the most beautiful (and talented) women on this PLANET! But I just didn't see the Angela character the same way, i don't think she made it clear to Jerard because I felt like she liked Marcus from the start but that's just my take and I respect yours. But Halle berry the actress ... I love her!

Chris Rock's character informs the viewers how the workplace knows all the details of everyone's sex life. That when Marcus gets another notch, everyone knows and everyone knows he's a dog. So when he has sex with Lady Ellioise everyone also knows that, and when Jacqueline turns the tables on Marcus everyone knows that as well.
Eddie Murphy is 5-foot-9, which is not considered very tall. For most men, anyone 6 feet and above is considered tall.
This has been in my top 3 since I first saw it! Comedy, romance & drama. One of the best rom coms of all times.

Yall don't realize just how HUGE of a sex symbol he was back then. One of my HS friends had a HUGE crush on him.... but the funny part is, Eddie HIMSELF said he didn't think he was all that good looking.
True! He was a huge sex symbol at the time so it makes sense casting him as this character. He was "sexy" in Coming to America.

I love this movie, too! But not gonna lie - it ends for me when Marcus comes back to work to Jacqueline whispering about him. 😂 I legit turn it off.
I think Gerard, while misguided about how Angela felt about him, was not wrong to be mad at Marcus for pursuing her, and Angela was into Marcus from the start but Jacqueline had already grabbed his attention - but she wasn't above making her moves the minute it was clear that Jacqueline played him. Then Marcus betrays Angela and...the "reformed" womanizer/misogynist ends up with the pick me?

It was scripted for that random woman to come over and talk to Marcus while he was at the table with his friends. Marcus Graham is a player and a ladies man in case you forgot.

David Alan Grier's character was GERARD JACKSON, not Gerald. Also, Chris Rock was discovered by Eddie Murphy and is very talented.
Thanks for the Name correction, I definitely mispronounced it at some point. I didn't know Eddie Murphy discovered Chris Rock, I'm not a big Chris rock fan but I won't deny that he's talented. I still feel like his character could have been edited out to make the movie tighter but I can understand Eddie Murphy wanting to showcase him.
Fun facts: Chris Rock was in Krush Groove and Beverly Hills Cops II.

... lol yes, I don't think highly of Marcus the "fictional character" Eddie Murphy plays in a movie🤷. As for Eddie Murphy himself, I didn't find him as attractive in this movie compared to his other movies (mainly because I didn't like how he was styled in it) but that's my opinion and preference, doesn't have to be yours. I found Eddie Murphy very attractive in coming to America and Beverly Hills cops because that's my styling preference.
