- I'm excited to share that after being encouraged to share my experience on the farm I have finally decided to go for it. I will now be uploading videos on my perspective on farming as a city girl. This is all definitely new to me but I LOVE IT! I can’t wait to share more! Stick with me to see my thoughts on the life of a farmer and my experience working on a farm! 😇

Nave is a 21 year-old go-getter from a small city in Iowa. She has been blessed with the opportunity to experience what life is like on a farm, and she LOVES it! Learning how to do new things is one of her favorite hobbies, so she takes life on the farm as the perfect challenge. She has lived in the city her entire life, so she has much to learn! She plans on putting a woman's touch to the farm and sharing her faith and passions with all to help encourage, teach, and entertain others. Join her as she takes on this new adventure!

I was born and raised on a farm in Eastern Iowa. I couldn't wait to get to a big city, just to get away. Although I did have a horse, which I loved! I am much older and wiser, and have lived in the big city (Chicago) for almost 20 years. I'll tell you, I REALLY miss Iowa and the farm now! We Iowans are much more friendly than here! Good luck with all you do! I know you'll do just fine!❤

Your talking about being strong made me think of my daughter. When she was in high school we let her get some horses. She was crazy about them and we figured it would keep her busy and out of trouble. We got a load of hay stacked in the barn and once she had used up all the bales that were low she asked me to help her get some more down from the pile. These bales weighed about 120 pounds apiece. I told her I would show her how to move them herself. Moving hay bales has a lot more to do with technique than strength. She was a fast learner and got pretty good at it. Whenever teenage boys would come over she would ask them to help her get down a bale. The poor boys could never do it so that would give her a chance to show off a little. Maybe it was a little mean of her but it was all in good fun. Thanks for reminding me. You and Cole seem well matched and were both lucky to have found each other. Best wishes and good luck.

It IS beautiful. I’m a farm girl, though I don’t live on a farm anymore. It gets in your blood and it never leaves. Thank goodness I live on the edge of an island now because looking at open spaces keeps me sane and lowers my blood pressure. (Even though I’m a little afraid of water). 😊 I know what you mean when you say that pictures can’t do it justice, but I can feel the beauty of it in your videos. It is beyond awesome.

You're such a charmer, Nave! I already love you. My husband used to work for a bank and had to wear suits and ties. After almost 20 years he got laid off (best thing that ever happened to us--thank you God!) Now he's lost a ton of weight, threw out all his ties, and wears Carhart's for pretty much everything but sleeping! He looks so great in his Carhart's! I love it!

Neiva, you have so much energy. Glad you are back. I would like to see more worship videos, too. I am very glad you and Cole are together and like being on the farm with all the Cornstars. They are very nice people, but I don't have to tell you that. Don't worry about what your ministry will be, just get as close to God as you can and He will reveal it. The most important thing is the being part. The doing part of any significance will always be the result of our transformation into the likeness of Christ. Matt.5 is all about the beatitudes. When we become what God wants us to be, then we can do great things for Him (things we are not able to do our self). It will be His power working through us so that He gets all the glory. What a great go-between you are from city to country. Farming is the hardest and most fun job to have. Teaches immense responsibility and problem solving. More young people should have these experiences. Your a lucky girl, and Cole is a lucky guy. Best wishes from upstate NY.

Hey Nave, I know there's been some naysayers in the comments (seems to be the same people that dislike Cole), but follow your dreams. You're young, only a tad bit younger than myself and my partner. But you have the opportunity to pursue a dream. It'll be hard, and you'll want to quit, but persevere. If I weren't a wageslave in the Southwest, I'd be pursuing my dream of desert farming here in 'zona. God bless and keep at it girl.

City lights in sure the night sky. We live out in the country, unfortunately more people have moved out into the area so the glare from the nearest town has increased. One year we were able to observe the space shuttle re-entry into the atmosphere, it passed directly over our area. The children were super excited and in awe. The entry burn was clearly visible, the underside of the space ship was clearly visible and we were able to track it's path across the sky for several miles.

Hello Farm Girl. Pleased to make your acquaintance. After watching your oil change video I feel the need to advise you to guard your hair from all of the farm machinery. Especially guard it from the wheels on your creeper. It won't happen but once.

@@DiamondMaker69 Absolutely, Nave! May I suggest what I did with my hair? Pony tail on top of head, then wrap around into a bun, secure with barretts that clip shut. Bobby pins and hair pins can wiggle loose and fall into stuff you're working on. My farmer's mom always wore her hair ike this too! Take care and God Bless!

You guys do a great job with the video. Very good. I grew up in the country on a farm, I can identify with everything you guys say in the video. I really enjoyed your explaining your first impressions of farming. I think a lot of city residents don't know the details of how farmers work and live from day to day. I remember when I was in high school a group of city students visited a farm and the farm had cattle and one of the cows did! A (moo) or so and literally one of the students ask which horn did the moo come from??? Trur story. I truly believe a lot of people are really not aware of how farmers do their day to day work activities.
This is so true! They really aren't aware! It's completely different than my original idea of what a farm was and honestly I'm glad it was cause it's way better! Always something new to learn! ☺️
Nave, I think you are a lovely young woman. I too took a ministry route. I was head Pastor of a 100+ flock with the United Church of Christ. It was very filling work. This was back in the late 1980s to 2000. I had a joint mission in the inter-city delivering food sacks and taking folks to their Dr. appts for people with HIV/AIDS. It was a crisis in Memphis, Tn at the time and no pastors would minister God's word to these people. I prayed on it and the Lord lead me in that direction. It was a hard ministry because most of my folks would die and then I would have a funeral. It was hard work. But, I am a firm believer that hard work plus having God as your rudder leads to a happy life. Also, having God lead my 38-year marriage helped in my work. I was 100% supported and it makes a difference.
Whether or not you and Colethecornstar get married will only unfold with time. Always be honest first to yourself, love who you are and get comfortable in your own skin. Honesty and having the ability to make yourself vulnerable other so they see your heart first things makes for a happy life. You will never have trust without truth. Godspeed on journey. I enjoy your music and heck everyone knows that Carharrt is the new Gucci. ☮️❤️

Kriste Elrod, it is inspiring to hear your story and wise words. I'm sure you made a difference to many people, some with HIV/AIDS would have had nobody left who would have gone near them. People were too afraid to be near them since it was so misunderstood in those days. Sad! I am so happy to see young people with enthusiasm to jump into life and make a difference. Nave, Cole and a few young adults in my life give me hope. Some others make make me shake my head and wonder. I think it's important to encourage all to be their best, some take a little bit more than others.

I am also inspired and a little less afraid, lol, that there are young people out in the world that one is inspired by God, and know they have to do their part to keep this world running. Cole and his friends sound like they know what they want to do with their lives and are working toward those goals. When Cole first witnessed after digging one of the graves, my heart melted. He has God first. I do believe that the Lord Jesus is the best rudder to steer my ship. HIV/AIDS was not my only ministry. I also did/do a lot with veterans. From WWII to the present. ☮️❤️

Nave, I think you may have already found your Ministry and calling. At the time of this post you have 1.92k subscribers and growing. Imagine how many you can reach just by doing what you already are. Imagine how many more you can reach if you take us along on the adventures God has in store for you. I believe God can use us no matter where we are or what we are doing. (Even if it is just doing chores on the farm, or replying to comments on a RUclips video.) Sometimes we don't have to "Go" anywhere, we just need to be open and willing and He will do the rest. I know RUclips can be a tough place, but I believe you are built for tough, and He will supply whatever else you need. Can you imagine that you never fight Cole? Imagine, every fight has a looser. For the looser the love will go a little down. Now you live on cloud #9. How would it be to live there after many years. Disagree with him is fine. Sit down and talk about it when you have a moment of rest. Someone only gets emotional when the other is valuable for him. So, when the other gets emotional it means a declaration of love. Blessings to you both. Same advice for Cole as for you. The other will attempt to solve things different. That might be not the best solution in your eyes, but never will be something that is on purpose against you.

@@NavexCole Take this principle. Your task is to make other people happy and there is nobody who has the obligation to make you happy. This is so because you never can force others to do good to you. If Cole is not happy, how can he give what he doesn't have? If you want more tips, then I would prefer a less public location. I now live 10 years with my wife together. We never had a fight. She is still on cloud #9.

I'm not sure how I came across your video. I occasionally watch Cole's videos. I love to watch someone learn about modern agriculture, and I love hearing about what misconceptions they had prior. I married a girl that grew up not knowing anything about agriculture almost 18 years ago now. She is still learning and it still brings me joy to teach her something new. She hasn't been around row crop very much. We own some cultivated land but we lease it out. We did farm it when I was growing up, but when I moved off to college my dad leased that land out and we just do the cattle now. We run around 350 momma cows. I really wish there was a way to reach more people and educate them about agriculture. You see so many politicians and scientists who claim agriculture is harmful to the planet and this bothers me deeply. As I'm sure that one thing you have learned is how much farmers care about the environment. I wish that people could realize that our livelihood comes from the Earth, and to destroy it would be highly counterproductive. I had to laugh a little about Cole leaving you alone with the tractor. I'm not sure about Cole, but that's the way we learned a lot of things from our fathers. He knew you were ready even though you doubted yourself. He might still be waiting for you to say you were ready to be on your own. I look forward to watching you grow. Have a Blessed day.

I literally smiled the entire video, you attitude is amazing. Just think, if you and Cole get married some day, you will be a farm wife and you and Cole can work side by side! As far as animals, I think you should talk him into getting a sheep or a goat or some chickens to start with, just for you to have and take care of when you are there, to get the real country feeling. Just remember, most people make more of a difference by ministering in everyday roles, being in vocational ministry is brutal sometimes, and sometimes God designed people to Minister person to person and help and encourage a pastor rather then be his family

@@NavexCole I was a preacher's kid, had only thought about being a preacher, and it took some horrible times to realize I wasn't built to be a preacher, and that wasn't how God wanted me to minister, and now I'm learning I still need to heal from what Churches have done to me while growing up

The first time I saw the 40 square Farmstead Home, with the curved windows in the upstairs that blew out in the big wind. With Nave and Cole planting garden. The picture of the American Gothic farmer and wife by Grant Wood popped into my mind, with the Cornstar Twist of course!

Welp congrats on dating a farmer. I don't think I've ever seen someone so excited to WORK on a farm. Many date nights are spent in the equipment. Lol
