I still feel discouraged at times, but the way I see it, as long as I share Jesus, then it gives them a chance to be saved, I'm called to share the good news, whether they accept it or not is up to them, but every chance I get to glorify God, I'm gonna take it. :)

Evangelism is sharing the good news of Jesus Christ so that one may receive salvation.
*_Anybody who sees this comment, please pray for me to have the courage and opportunities to share the Gospel with my mother and sister._* I don't have a great relationship with either of them, so that makes it harder, but I love them dearly and can't imagine the guilt and grief I would feel if they died without Christ.
I want to share Christ with them, but it seems that they think that I'm this "holier-than-thou" judgmental Christian (idk how much of that is my fault and how much of that is them projecting their opinion of Christianity onto me). so that makes it even harder to get through to them

This is not a good definition of Evangelism. The confusion comes because the word "Evangelism" does not occur in our English Bible. It is most often translated from the Greek: "Preach the gospel." Evangelism is strictly telling people the gospel. The response of the people to that message is irrelevant. How people respond is God's business not ours. We need not be discouraged when people do not respond positively. Most people will not respond positively because most people are going to Hell -- unfortunately. We need to keep the results out of what evangelism is and yet rejoice when someone does respond positively. Evangelism is simply telling the gospel regardless of our wonderful or not so wonderful ability and regardless of the results.
Appreciate your comments! I completely agree that we shouldn't be overly discouraged when people don't respond positively. Though, anyone who has a true love for the people they're ministering to will be saddened when they don't respond (Luke 19:41-44). But we should not be discouraged to the point of giving up, we should always minister to those around us!

I am Pastor Davis from Busia, Kenya. I am a Pastor whose heart beats for the lost souls and discipleship. Having been in active ministry for 15 years now, I have seen God convicting the lost of their sins upon hearing His gospel and bringing them into his fold to form 28 Churches in Kenya, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. I have also seen that after these churches have been planted the wolves prowl around the flock with their destructive heresies. Being a man sent on a mission by God, I have seen it necessary to protect the flock by grounding their leaders in the unadulterated word through discipleship.
Since I have no other materials I have been designing some discipleship lessons with the little knowledge I received from the seminary. But I have reached the limit and for now my eyes are on God to provide for:
1.Swahili Bibles because as Augustine of Hippo said, "God speaks with His people in their own language."
2. Discipleship Materials. God speaks to us through Jeremiah 3:15, "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." And also 2Timothy 2:2 says, " And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
Fellow sailing partner in ministry would you please consider to help us fish for the lost and feed the found? Even a little support will help. I will honestly appreciate it. Let us keep praying that God of the Harvest will do everything through His faithful children.

I really do think that so many people become terrified when they hear the word, "evangelize". It sounds like such a huge and important task that we often makes excuses for reason we don't think it's very important or is for US. We can simply start with our own story...our own testimony. How did Jesus change YOUR life? Of course we should continue studying God's word and learning more to be more effective but we are equipped with our own story from day 1 of Salvation. :)
+Lorie Brumfield Yeah it's true that people are afraid of that term. Sharing your story, giving a testimony, or living as a witness- all synonyms for things we as Christians are called to do. I love the multiple examples of disciples of Jesus who were equipped with nothing but their own story and made a difference. Really inspiring!

A muslim here trying to find out what evangelism is. Great energy, but i’m still unsure where evangelical christian sits among Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants. Need more info.

I was a Norse pagan for 8 years, then I took a good hard look at the world and myself, and it only took 3 days for me to accept god once again, I would not say I’m at a ten, but maybe a 6-7

Growing my relationship with God was complicated because I didn't grow taking in the milk first. I wasn't focused on the milk, but the meat. I went into the Book of Revelations a lot. I was trying to figure out what the Book of Revelation means. Let me tell you I got so much of it wrong and now I have so much of it right, but it was a big struggle. I would not recommend a baby Christian going for the meat.
You will have such a hard time. Even though I went for the meat God had mercy on me by showing me the meat through prophecy. He was giving me dreams dealing with prophecy what the meat will be like in the book of Revelation. It is really disturbing what the meat will look like here on Earth. The meat is hard to bear. I have bared so much. I know a lot of the Book of Revelation, but there was still something missing. Something so small to BELIEVE, but yet the most beautiful thing. It was the milk. I did not know about the milk. I did not know that I was supposed to go for the milk first. God revealed to me in a dream the milk.
It all started when I would abuse myself whenever I commit a sin. I question my salvation, but I did not dare question others salvation. In fact, I would believe that many people were saved and I was down in the dumps. I believe that I was going the wrong direction and many people were not. I got SAVED when I was 5 years old, but I deeply question myself with my salvation and I would abused myself.
The free gift that God gave me, I would put bruises on my chest. I would scratch and bite my body. I would have teeth marks, Color Purple. I would bang my head on the door. I was being very hard on myself. My family would tell me that I am SAVED, but they couldn't show me in Scripture. My mom took me to church but she couldn't show me in the Holy Bible about once your SAVED, you can't lose your salvation.
I had to research and I researched so many things about salvation. I researched about suicide, I researched God's love, I research what's in hell and why people go there. I did very much researched about the word of God. I was very close to God with a relationship and I did not admit that, but would put myself down in the dumps by abusing myself. Even as a warrior, I would abused myself. I did not tell anyone that they could lose their salvation, but I told myself that I was not saved and would abused myself
One day, I had a dream that God gave me. In the dream, I was standing in this parking lot. I knew why I was there. I was there to see the therapist. I looked in my pocket and I saw a GPS. The GPS told me where I needed to go. There were two buildings, one on the left and the other one on the right. They both look like schools. The GPS said I needed to go to the school on the left. So I went to the school on the left. I could not see a full picture of the school on the left. When I entered the building, I saw chaos, everything was in chaos, it was so terrible!!!
I asked one of those students a question" I said, can you tell me where I can find the therapist"? That students smiled an evil smile and said with the most scratchy voice" the therapist?! Then I saw them leave quickly and a person came up to me and said" who are you looking for?"😉 I said" I'm looking for the therapist. Then I showed Him the GPS. He said" you're in the wrong building, you're supposed to be in this building." The building He was pointing to was on the right. The GPS said the left.
I followed His directions. So I went to the building on the right. Then I saw a red truck by the building on the right. It was my pops old truck. But this truck was brand new!!! It was not old at all. It was very nice and brand new!!! So I entered the building. I saw people at peace and they would walk together. They communicated and I didn't hear any voice, but I knew they were communicating with each other. It was so peaceful and it was definitely not noisy, it was relaxing, it was rest.
I did not have my GPS, the GPS was wrong and I did not know where I was supposed to go. Then I saw these two people heading down a hallway. One person was black and the other one was white. They were walking together and communicating with each other. So I followed them down the hallway. The hallway ended, but there was this wall they had to climb. If you climb the wall, the hallway kept on going, but you had to climb the wall. So they climb the wall and I said to myself" I can do this".
So I climbed the wall and kept follow them down the hallway. Then there was another wall they had to climb. They climb the wall, the hallway kept on going. So I climb the second wall. I said I can do this". Then they get to this other wall and it's under construction, but you don't have to climb that wall. The hallway ended, but you could go to your right or your left. It was like a direction of a cross.
You could go back, you could go right or you could go left, but at the ✝, which is straight up, it was under construction. They did not climb it, they went to the right. But I said looking at the wall under construction" I can do it". So I climb this wall and it comes tumbling down on me. It made the loudest sound.
Then the owner comes up to me dressed up as a janitor. He had the cart. He had the spray bottles, everything!!! He said to me that will be $443 dollars. He was very tall. I'm 5 11, almost six foot, He look like He was 12 feet!!! So I said to Him" okay". Then He said" wait a minute, you're here to see the therapist." I said" yes I am. Then we talked and I can't remember the conversation. Then He told me His name and had His hand out to shake my hand.
I couldn't at that moment even know His name!!! Couldn't pronounce it. It was so beautiful running through your ears!!! His name running through your ears!!! He wanted to shake my hand. I saw Him change suddenly when He told me His name. His gloves were white as snow and there was a white as snow image of a lion!!! It look like the image of a lion!!! He had this huge King's wardrobe and it was white as snow!!! Only the King could wear it!!! Only God could wear it!!!
After He took off His gloves, I saw in the palm of His hands. It was like soft waves that were white as snow and it was so powerful, His hands. There was such a shine and it would shine white as snow!!! It was looking at life, the source of life, He is the source of life!!! He did want to shake my hand, but I ran up so fast to hug Him. I saw myself in third person hugging Him and He stretched out His arms around me. He could stretch out His arms any height He wanted!!! The hug felt so wonderful!!! Nothing can compare God's hug!!!
It felt like God's atmosphere, so at peace, so warm, like nothing in the whole entire universes, nothing in all creation can touch you!!! His arms was there to make you feel safe!!! It was the most wonderful feeling!!! I saw His hair, it was long, it was straight, and blond, very unique looking. I didn't see a beard. He was very big!!! You just knew, He is God!!! He is God the Father. Then after, He pointed towards these beautiful wooden stairs. The whole scenery changed and it was just beautiful!!! So I walked up the stairs, seeing myself in third person walking up the stairs and the dream was over.
Once SAVED always SAVED!!! That's the milk and Jesus revealed the milk to His disciples.
John 14:1-8 (KJV) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Philip was not saying show us The Father in what different features the Father has of the style of hair. Does the Father have different color of eyes? Philip did not mean that. Philip was in disbelief of what Jesus said and wanted proof. So he may believe.
John 14:9-10 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
You need to BELIEVE. Phillip didn't believe in his HEART and Jesus said let not your hearts be troubled and Phillips HEART was troubled and wanted proof.
Don't think I haven't been down this road. I knew Jesus is God. I got SAVED when I was 5 years old. But I BELIEVED that the Lord Jesus was disappointed in me. I believed that God the Father loved me, but my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was disappointed in me. But I read that verse that the Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ does also what the Father does!!!
John 5:19 (KJV) Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
So if God the Father is pleased with me, then our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God is also pleased with me.

Great explanation. Christians tend to put too much emphasis on he conversion moment instead of the sometimes slow grind of walking with people as they grow into the image of Jesus. The 1-10 idea helps with that a lot.
+Hayden Parrish It was pretty transformational for me too! I would get discouraged when I put a lot of effort into an event and didn't see tangible fruit (1 to 10 conversion) immediately. This helped me to understand my personal experience as well as to stay encouraged in my own ministry!

One pastor today says me that evangelize is a style of life. You do evangelism 24/7/365 as Jesus does with your life and your acts as the sower did in His parable.
Evangelism is one of the 7 gifts and part of the 5 fold ministry. What evangelist can do is go out into a crowd and speak as god is flowing thru them. Or if god lays it on there heart he will he will use them to speak to that one person to help bring them into church to want to learn.

What different between evangelism and baptists?
I'm a little confused. "Evangelism" involves heralding the gospel clearly, accurately and comprehensively.
That's a part of it for sure. But on this definition that I'm working with, evangelism is a little bit broader than just that

my views: i know we tend to get discourage when we dont see immediate results or we dont see results at all but we shouldnt tho. our job is to present the words of God in the simplest, honest and most effective way possible. we can show and teach individuals but we cant make them accept Christ. some will accept Him some will take some time and some simply wont come to Christ. but despite everything we shouldnt grow wear of evangelizing because it is a command from Jesus Christ. all we need to do is plant the seed and let God do the rest...... you said something i dont agree with or i dont understand and would love if you could do a video about it or message me privately. you said something about "Sinners Prayer" please explain. good content as always, it gets a thumb up.

You lost me within the first two minutes. You seemed to be saying that the most faithful Christians are those who do certain things.
I agree that Christians tithe, for example but, according to Hebrews 11:1, faith is the evidence of things not seen (things we cannot observe with our natural senses or measure with scientific instruments).
Between 1982 and 2007, there were several occasions when someone asked me "Are you saved?"
Because I assumed each of those people meant "Have you been justified?" I answered in the affirmative.
On some of those occasions, I assumed that the person's question gave me permission to ask him to tell me how he became a Christian. In each of those several instances, the person who was quite sure he was "saved" told me about things he had done. Not one of them mentioned anything Jesus had done.
If you ever get around to making a video about encouraging people to trust the Lord, please let me know.

It kind of scares me when I see Christians over-emphasizing kindness and love in their narratives. Kindness and love by their individual effects, can be a double-edged sword and a slippery slope into logical fallacies which by themselves will lead to more harm than good not only to the christian but to the people he's confronting. (like over-protecting people so they lose their ability to survive individually, or refusing to fight your enemies when your enemies endanger the lives or integrity of your tribe/family)
I suppose it is very important to note, that the fundamental principles of faith, no matter which branch of it is concerned, is that you must 1. never turn away from god, and 2. give priority to your spirit and not to your soul when making decisions or taking action. The spirit is cold, rational, decision-maker whereas the soul is the soft, irrational bundle of emotions. When you practice your faith, make sure you don't betray those around you by engaging in fallacies and thus undermining the safety and integrity of their physical as well as spiritual well-being.
Well put, I understand your concern
You didn't really explain what Evangelism is, truthfully you just described most religions views regarding getting closer to GOD.
I suggest emphases on history, the creation of the movement and its influence on the world.
Evangelism is propogation of God's message to man.
