Thanks nice video saved me grief. Am 72 bought 1st bike 99 Road King and rebuilding Triple Tree.
U RAwesome.
Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Bought removal tool based on video for Harley Sportster and didn't fit due to taper in frame. If you trim/grind the bottom side of the tool at an angle (each side) but still leave a few mm of the lip and it'll fit snug in behind race. From there just knock it out with punch or drift.
Not ideal especially if you just bought tool new, but if that's the tool you got that's easiest way to do it.
That's a great tool would work on some jobs on cars too very nice thanks
+Anthoney King - you’re welcome Anthoney. This job would be a bear without it! Definitely one for the tool drawer.
Use angle grinder cut a thin lip around the edge should fit in then tool may only be good 4 that clearance...
It’s the no shoes for me
It’s not working on my Harley, no flange to grab.
Side question, what garage cabinets are those behind you?

@@HouseMadeUS thanks!
U didn't put the new ones back in... cmon man... gotta do a complete job.
This is the most frustrating tool I have ever used! The bearing races on my bike has no edge or lip to get up under. So I just have to tighten the tool as HARD as I can. But the thing just jumps out.
Hi. Can i have an update on how you remove the bearing races.

would worn out Races cause death wobble ? my Road Glide has death wobble...
That’s most likely due to a bad wheel bearing.
Or swingarm bearings. Be careful out there bro.
Im also hearing that adding a brace on the forks can help with that.
Update...the dealership said it may be the front tire, I had my doubts because the tire was new 🤷🏼♂️ but they warranty it and replaced the tire and holy shit ! It fixed it...rides like a dream 👍🏻
will this tool work on removing tapered races?
+Ron c Shaw - yes, I’ve done it many times.
👍
Did you get out of the boat restoring?
+Phillip Brame - yes. No room for a big boat at my new house. Smaller projects for now. Some day I’ll restore a sailboat. :)
You have gloves on, and an apron. But your barefoot and pantless. Wtf 😂
That's how I roll. 🤠
I rode the hell out of my fat boy so my races came out easy lol
Using this exact tool and still can't get this thing out.
Are you using a drift? Any luck?
Only do this job with proper shoes or boots on. This even applies to hipsters, beat necks, Zoomers, Boomers, GenX'ers, Goths, or whatever else you may identify as. You only get one set of toes. They don't grow back. Good vid otherwise.
Steel toes every day now. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@HouseMadeUS Good deal. :)
