I believe the foam part of the mic lessens the noise. It softens noises so they’re not so loud...I think.

the foam is called pop filter and is used to reduce the noise of exhaled air when you speak, you can test how it sounds without the foam or put a sock on the foam to increase filtering. I like rambling videos so for me these videos are great
