How to Apply Tapecoat TC20 Hot-Applied Tape

The steps to apply this product follow these steps:
1 Application of Tapecoat Omniprime and TC20 Hot-Applied Tape
2 Remove all loose materials that will impede the bond of the TC20 coating system
3 Prepare the surface with hand or power tools; or commercial blast cleaning
4 Clean surface with a solvent wipe
5 Surface must be clean and dry
6 Use a propane torch to preheat surface to 100-140°F (38-60°C)
7 Apply a thin coat of Omniprime (4 mils) by brush and allow to dry to touch
8 Unroll one foot of tape and heat the adhesive side (not the film side)
9 Use a propane torch to heat the tape’s adhesive
10 The wrap should start and end on the downside of the pipe between 1 and 5 o’clock positions
11 50% overlap is recommended with spiral wrapping
12 Wearing heat resistant gloves, smooth out wrinkles, and ensure tape conforms to the pipe
13 The tape wrap should be free of wrinkles and voids
14 Perform visual inspection or electrical continuity test
