If you’re new to the channel, we’re Kristi and Patrick O’Connell. We’re the founders of IBEX Training, a fitness app and community built for those who take their training seriously. You might not know us yet, so here’s a timeline of some of the things we’ve done (that you can look up to verify).
    How we got here…
2007-2011: Kristi was a D1 swimmer at the University of Louisville.
2010: Patrick qualified for the first-ever CrossFit Regionals and would go on to qualify six more times.
2010-2013: Kristi raced marathons, triathlons, and a half Ironman, running both the 2010 Boston and 2011 New York marathon.
2016: We moved to Columbus to run our own gym, the same year Kristi qualified for her first CrossFit Games. With Patrick as Her coach Kristi qualified for 7 consecutive CrossFit Games.
2019: We launched IBEX Training and built the IBEX Training app to deliver science-backed fitness programs and resources to help members achieve their goals.
2022: Kristi ran a 3:04 marathon while still maintaining high-level strength and conditioning.
2023: We have more than doubled the size of our gym since we took over with a thriving community.
2023: Kristi won the Houston Hyrox race (also her first Hyrox race)
2023: Kristi ran her first 50k ultra marathon, Patrick ran a 1/2 marathon trail race
2024: We have 8+ Years and 1,000s of coaching hours helping members reach their goals.
2024: Kristi ran the Columbus half marathon in 1:23, avg pace 6:22.
Today: We spend 100% of our time writing fitness programs, and helping people of all fitness levels striving to become 1% better every day.
    Let’s crush it together,
    Kristi & Patrick

I'm really learning a lot from you guys lately. The single leg exercises for runners have been a game changer for me.
Question: when you and Pat plan your meals, are both of your macro splits similar enough that you can prepare the same meals and adjust portions accordingly?

    • @Kristi-Eramo-OConnell
      @Kristi-Eramo-OConnell  Год назад +3

This comment means so much! Thank you!!! We are so happy you have found value in our content!! We both focus on building our meals around lean protein , the filling in carbs and fats. You nailed it, our splits are similar enough but he just needsMORE of everything than I do. Our meals are always very very similar just portions look diff! This also helps us keep each other accountable!! We love it!

Just watched one of your videos regarding macro counting and found it very helpful. I've made a rough calculation based on my current status and was wondering if I could hear your opinion(s) regarding cookbooks. Do you find them accurate? Is it flawed? Close enough to its claim(s) regarding the nutritional values?

  • @Robert-qm1ld

I’ve been tracking macros for almost three years and find it to be little to no problem to track on a daily basis after the first month adjustment. I thought about protein thresholds as well as protein activation and which meal(s) have proven to be most effective in gaining muscle and losing fat while listening. Maybe a more in depth video? 😊

People are interested in percentages for macros. That’s what apps track. Maybe you could focus on that in a future macro video.
