Also I talk about some of our greatest hurdles this year as well as a quick meet and greet of our wonderful team! Afters were fun as fuck this year. Sunday was just a wacky day, vibes were way off even before the medical incidents. Glad everyone was safe in the end.
I could hear the bass from the far end of Lucky Lake the first night and after that we just decided to go there every night since there was little chance of sleeping. Glad we went

@@YummyTrucker It was just bass by the time we were in our tent which was in the back near the parking. Lucky Lake was right next to the Evol stage though so I'm sure the nearby sites got some good tunes

Gene thanks for having these really. I was one of the few workers that built the stages for EF and I had the chance to talk and dance with you for the first nights and am more than thankful for. I didn’t get to see all the ending sets of the festival cause I had to work the stages because of the storms but to keep it short I would love to chat with you more gene and if you ever need any hands with the build or just extra hands I’ll always love to help and I can always get some of my crew to help as well.

The sound from the campgrounds was pretty nice. We were set up in Camp Edison all the way over on the other side of the campground and we were able to hear Big Gigantic clearly enough for us to actually listen and vibe to it. I liked it lmao. Also gotta mention when making our way over to the afters, the bass from like 150 to 200 yards out was still damn impressive. It felt nice to be able to hang in the back and still feel some proper bass
Hell yes!! Mission accomplished! We were hoping it would be at least pleasant to hear further back. So it wasn’t just all bass and nothing else. Glad you appreciated it!! Cuz you’re def our target market 😅😁
We lived at Afters even before Forest closed down for the night each day. The sets were real sets and every artist threw the fuck down with the live mixing. True artistry on display every night. Maddy O'Neal amplified my hippie flip to levels I have yet to experience, and her experimental bass set she put on was like nothing I have ever heard from her (or anyone for that matter) yet. One of my favorite sets of all time. The moon was literally dancing and swaying all night with us. Fucking excellent performances all around, from artists, to sound engineers, to production, and lighting crew. Ya'll killed it! Big ups to Skyler from the production side for being a beautiful human and giving us some good insider info about what was going down each night due to the horrible weather! Love to everyone and thank you for everyone that made this year such a blessing!
Yooo that full moon situation was insane!!!!! For real! And yeah, DeBussy killed it too!! They had Maddy and she is AWESOME!! our favorite neighbors!

this was such an awesome experience I got to go see Afters last year, and this year got to chill backstage with a bunch of the flow artist team really appreciative of that moment and would like to know how I can help out here in Chicago.

Yesss happy to say that it was very similar people!! The roles were a bit different back in that day, but I’m happy to be covering that in my part 2 video of the birth of EVOL afters video. Coming out… once we recover long enough from this one haha 😆
This year was my 6th forest in a row! As a fellow sound human, the bass slapped! I wish it stayed louder longer into the morning lol. But I am biased, as sound guys love their subs :)

I can tell you exactly what happened with all the medical events at the afters. They shut down Forest when everyone was taking their party favors and with that closed down water so people wandered the the after party’s with no water… glad everyone was okay though!

@@YummyTrucker Forest was my 4th festival, Lost Lands being my 1st back in 2022 where I went with one friend. I survived, but after okee '22 and elements '23(which was great, not perfect). I can confidently say that EF is near perfect, I know the law is the law, but bunk police q.q fight for them.. Lost lands is run SUPER well, the terain is just brutal, okee sucked in '22, elements was awesome but the actual venue space wasn't great, big rock "gravel" lots for the stage areas so it was rough.
BUT besides that, after everything I have seen, I am so happy there are people like you guys taking it this seriously, absolutely blowing the production to the moon, on par with the festival it self... Maybe it's time to add a middle collum like mainstage for soundbooth in the middle, and it can allow med to get to the center of the crowd easier(In another post I had mentioned having 2 or so locations for afters stages, to split the crowd up(which if possible, I have ZERO idea of the cost and logistics of doing what you do now 2x lol). regardless, your speaker system and production level is to the point where it could legit be a stage in the venue and no one would know the difference xD

So I’ve got a video from afters after Thursday at 2:56am where everyone around was saying that there was Levity, its Murph, Louis the Child, and Superfuture.
I’m pretty confident Levity & Louis were b2b and and at some point Superfuture and its Murph were b2b. They posted about it on X, too. But i could have my wires crossed

No you’re not “completely” wrong. I actually also thought that it was Louis the child at first (and they have played EVOL Afters before in 2019) however that was actually Wiley. (@codenamewiley on insta).
And yeah, all the other ones are right. But everyone was just going b2b with eachother. Also add Inzo, Big gigantic, and Zingara.
But now I’m re-reading your comment and you talk about this being Thursday. That was far from our lineup on Thursday. We had John Summit and a huge house lineup. Are you maybe thinking of the Debussy Bus?
