  • The 78th Annual Shinnecock Indian Pow Wow event hosted by the Shinnecock Nation on their ancestral land on Long Island, New York.
    Tribal Leader Lance A. Gumbs shares some history about Shinnecock and the lands they have lived on for over 12,000 years just 90 minutes (85 miles) from what is now called Manhattan, NYC.
    Watch the Grand Entry as all the dancers enter the stage in full regalia as well as a tribute to Shinnecock Veterans both living and beyond.

    The war dancers were very cool and very traditional. The thought of a warrior like this coming after you in the old days, hearing their war cries, must of been totally terrifying. I love how your people are fighting for what is and has always been , your own land and keeping your heritage. 🥰

      Yeah!!But I’m still very proud of my brothers and sisters for still practicing what our ancestors taught them. Coming from a Oglala Lakota Sioux from Pine Ridge Sd,Ojibwa from Turtle Mountain,Aztec from the Montezumaz,to being French Canadian!!!!Im soo proud of my heritage and its fine with me😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
