Everyone just admit it, you wanted to cry hearing this like I did because of how awesome this kid is. Big props to you Zach and his parents for being incredible role models to him. His kindness and wisdom is well beyond his years. I once helped make Christmas treat bags for kids at my local American Legion. An older gentleman who knows my dad but doesn't know me, told me that if I'm half the man my dad is I must be a pretty great man. It doesn't take much to make a positive impact on someone's life ya'll. That man's kind words did more for me than anything, it made me that much more proud to be my dad's son and if my own son can say that about me one day then I know I did my job as a father as well ❤ Love and Respect is what TRULY makes this world go round

My husband (50) is in a nursing home for rehab..... I see this every single time I go see him. Everyone should try to adopt an elderly person. You can make a difference and help out. It's so sad to see the ones that are left and forgotten. Loveya Zach for doing this and sharing
When I was in elementary school way back in the late 1980s, we had a volunteer "adopt an elderly person" program (I don't remember what it was called, im sorry) where the ones who wanted to participate would be picked up in a van (like a lot of churches do) and taken to an elderly home around dinner time and help them eat. Everyone was assigned to the same person week after week (we only went on Tuesdays); having the same person allowed us to get to know each other better to build a relationship (obviously, things could happen where this plan wasn't 100%, but when the time came it was figured out by the adults for us). We would make them cards for the holidays. Play games, sing carols at Christmas, and all sorts of other things. The home matched us up with those who didn't get visitors.

Zach, I WISH I Could buy something to help out your nephew. I had an adopted grandma who had hand tremors and I would always sit beside her when we went out so I could help her open the jelly packets, I even put it on her toast. She needed help with anything, I was there to help her. She died a little over 3 years ago at the age of 96, a week before her 97th birthday, and I can only tell you that I miss my Daddy more than I miss her. She was a wonderful friend and lady. And I think your 9 year old nephew has the beginnings to be the next you, in the caring and charity part. But with $4 left in my checking account, I can’t afford to buy anything! That has to last me for the rest of the month. Not making you feel sorry for me, just explaining. I love you and I love your nephew who gets you into so much trouble!!! Keep him close to you! LOL
My heart is just running over…I am a grandma of 11grands. & 2+ 1 on the way of great grandchildren. They live all over - Baltimore, Texas, San Francisco & Santa Clara & back on down to LA & the San Fernando Valley - oh I for got the Hawaii contingent . Their ages range from 3 to 30. Each one of them have their “good” qualities from wanting to have people move in with us because they have less. We try to do what we can to help but when they show you how they are ready to help my heart wants to burst. Now we didn’t raise all these kids but we raised our children & they passed on the wisdom & lessons they learned from us. God has blessed us. We rise everyday & thank him. I saw what little man saw when I was the only person visiting my 82 year old neighbor in nursing home. I cried every time I left that place because of all the lonely people with no one visiting. I made friends and stopped to talk to many of them in the hallway just begging for attention. I visited 3 times a week after work until Covid locked me out and I stood outside her window telling her it would be ok. Then Covid took her from me and I couldn’t even be there to hold her hand while she passed away and that broke my heart more than anything because I promised I’d be there 💔

As someone who is only 31 and has been handicapped for my entire life over the last several years I’ve lived in a nursing facility and unfortunately see elderly people whom either never get visitors or have no one to come to visit especially recently. I absolutely love this idea and just bought a hat. I hope y’all know just how well this kid is being raised.

I’m on disability from a car wreck and raising my 4 kids so funds are tight for us but I’ll most definitely keep this situation in my prayers I promise. I was cut in half from hydroplaning and guardrail cut me halfway into I was paraplegic for 3 years I’m a walking miracle 💯 God bless you all.

That's a great idea the only thing about it is that some old people in those homes are diabetic and some can't swallow very well among other eating problems. Ive worked in nursing homes my whole life. A great thing for him to do would be get them blankets or small things like socks...just another idea

I wish I could help. This made me cry. I lost my mom in a nursing home and I used to walk with bad knees everyday to feed her lunch. I saw so many that were just left there with no one who ever visited. GOD BLESS LITTLE MAN AND HIS AMAZING 9YR OLD HEART. BLESS HIS PARENTS FOR GIVING HIM HIS CREATIVE FREEDOM AND TO YOU FOR BEING THERE TO HELP OUT SUCH A GREAT HEART WITH YOURS AND SARAHS AMAZING HEARTS. Please keep us updated. I know how much it meant to those people when I would help when mom was having a good day and could feed herself.

I'm proud of Little Man. He has a big giving heart like his "Uncle". I worked on a nursing home for years and am now a caregiver for seniors in their homes. I know they really love it when kids stop by. Christmas caroling also cheers them up. Merry Christmas to you and yours. May God bless you all.
Little man did a really great thing, I used to work at a assisted living building, I loved it... but he's correct on how many doesn't even have family to help!!! God Bless him and his friends for thinking of this & Bless y'all for helping him do this!!!

I wish I could help. This made me cry. I lost my mom in a nursing home and I used to walk with bad knees everyday to feed her lunch. I saw so many that were just left there with no one who ever visited. GOD BLESS LITTLE MAN AND HIS AMAZING 9YR OLD HEART. BLESS HIS PARENTS FOR GIVING HIM HIS CREATIVE FREEDOM AND TO YOU FOR BEING THERE TO HELP OUT SUCH A GREAT HEART WITH YOURS AND SARAHS AMAZING HEARTS. Please keep us updated. I know how much it meant to those people when I would help when mom was having a good day and could feed herself.
