Thank you so much for this. As a mother, it is certainly easy to make your children an idol. We want the absolute best for them! And then God still asks us to hand them back to Him... The best Parent in the world, yet we find that so hard... 😢
I've had the same experience. Minutes after my 7 year old left to ride his bike, a neighbor told me he thought my boy had been hit by a truck. I followed him to the alley behind our complex and saw my sons bicycle underneath the tandem axles of a fourteen ton garbage truck.
