Marka Ragnos was one of the strongest sith of all time his death marked the end of a golden age of the sith empire even Vitate wanted to be his apprentice.
I can tell you why Marka wont win. Exar Kun and his apprentice were gifted with his knowledge as well as naga sadows so there are no real secrets between them. Exar Kun was Marked by their spirits as the heir of the Sith and the last True Sith Emperor by original Sith customs, there is a lot more to him than meets the eye and he is also far more powerful than Sidious or anyone like that also noting he was rejected by the ancient lords.
