I tried this with some butt connectors and it seemed like it didn't get hot enough to shrink it. I tried a lighter too which kinda works but that burned some of the wire casing off a couple of times so Idk if the butt connectors I have are thicker or i just need more heat or what? I'll have to check the wattage of my hair dryer.

Do you think you can also use a hairdryer like this with heatshrink self-solder seal wires =?
I would suggest a lighter or a butane torch flame (also available as lighters) just don't burn the shrink wrap and keep the flame moving.
Trying to see if I can use this to repair broken eyeglasses plastic frame leg. Wonder if it's stiff enough to hold it in place.
