  • Also known as the Portuguese Bowline. This knot is great for wilderness operations and making a bridle for a strokes to name a couple.

OK. I'm blown away. Not a newbie to knots by any stretch.. taught rock climbing for a decade or so in my youth. This is an amazing combination of the all powerful bowline! . Other than decorative knots (which I love learning & using) this is the 1st "new" knot I've seen in a loooong time.Thank you very much

Be aware of the angle ! At 120 degrees + and the load will increase by two time ie, if the person is a ton then on each anchor rope will be a ton on each, adding up to three ton load

It doesn't make a three ton load, it makes each anchor hold 100% of the load and if that's the case you aren't really sharing the load.

It’s a great knot but I’d argue it’s not really “on a bight”. It needs to be at the end of a line and can’t be tied in the middle. Thanks!!

The Yosemite finish is on a bite. That’s what he is referring to. Gives you another anchor loop attachment point facing the load.
